  1. I'm all for Cubs players getting hits, but I'd not be too upset if he walked thrice instead. Go Jacque.
  2. I have you down as the right players, Derwood, on the original (just went back and checked your entry). :-k
  3. I did admit there may be errors. Cheers for picking up on it, XZero.
  4. - You mean as long as you're leading?
  5. Bigger grins all round, folks. Kudos to those of you who've been struggling with the sheet as it is, but I've now got a fortnight off for Easter and that's one of only three things I've got to do over that period. 1. Hoover my bedroom floor. 2. Do a 10 question quiz about the Chronicles of Narnia 3. Make the NSBB HR derby spreadsheet easier to fill in. I know how to do 1 & 3, and I went and bought a barrel-load of books today to hinder my progress with 2. I'll keep you all informed.
  6. Right, here we go with the 'completed' file. This is one host for the file. If you look towards the bottom of the page, there's a countdown. Wait for it to end, then click on the link. This is on the same host as before. I'll endeavour to keep updated, of course, throughout the year. By the way, if people spot mistakes (I hope there is none) can you post them in this thread, so that if anyone else is keeping up to date, they can modify, too. I'll post an updated one not long after such incidents, however. Enjoy.
  7. At this point - sorry, I'll post the revised one tomorrow, time ran away from me while I was watching the Cubs game - ndistops and Outshined_One lead the derby with 6 each.
  8. I wouldnt be surprised to see this guy take over for Jock Strap by end of season if he keeps it up. That would mean he obviously played well enough to earn it based on Dusty's past use of young players so if Pagan does pass Jones by the end of the year I would be ecstatic. Dusty was quoted as saying he is really excited by the youth of his squad. However, I agree with you.
  9. I don't need time off. I'll be ready, with beer in hand, at home, and I cannot wait for it. I might just watch the White Sox - Indians game tonight yet.
  10. Derwood, when I post the revised one (that'll probably be tomorrow, I'd think) see if you can get that; if not... we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
  11. Go Cubs! I think I'll get to see this one!
  12. Having spent the time on the basic one yesterday, I'll do a revised one when the deadline passes. Seeing as I'm not over-whelmed at work at the moment, I'll play around with things, see if I can't get some formulae to do cool things - the first one that I thought was to shade in the cells appropriate to each player, or do a player-use count of some description - Pujols, I think, and A-Rod, are the most popular so far. Expect that sometime next week. Thanks for the compliments, too. Proof positive that learning about spreadsheets isn't quite as unnecessary as folk make out.
  13. I am looking forward to this immensely. Thanks for letting us know.
  14. See the discussion thread for it now.
  15. Here you can get the spreadsheet I put together to track the home run race. Its plain, and basic, but it would do the job. I'm sure someone can do it better, too.
  16. I can assist if you find it a bit too much of a load. I just need to get my wife (the Excel expert) to show me how to make a master HR list that then automatically updates each entrants listings (in other words, if I update A-Rod's HR totals, it will automatically update them for every person who has A-Rod, etc.) That's not as tough as it sounds, I don't think. In fact, having seen whether I can do it, it would be long winded to set up, but nothing too difficult. Just work from one sheet to another. Ed - In fact, I've got a worksheet now that'll take care of it all. Its not spectacular, by any means, but I can send it on.
  17. A. Rodriguez (NYY) B. Teixeira (TEX), Pujols (STL) C. Abreu (PHI), Giambi (NYY), Bay (PIT) D. Varitek (BOS), Huff (TB), Overbay (MIL), Beltre (SEA) I'll take Thome, too.
  18. Please win, Cubs, my signature on my forum is depressing me.
  19. Its suddenly a lot more fun to listen to, isn't it? yeah it is. Erasmo looks a little like his head is on backwards here.
  20. Its suddenly a lot more fun to listen to, isn't it?
  21. In a lot of ways, this result upsets me. The fact these teams were meeting again takes a lot away for me. However, Japan came up trumps when it really mattered, I guess. It will be an interesting final. I didn't stay awake, incidentally.
  22. Seo vs. Uehara. I've been keeping a casual eye on these teams, but, as I've said already, if Korea don't win this game there'll be (in my eyes) an injustice done. Having beaten Japan twice already, albeit in close games, Korea should be confident of progressing and should progress. I don't know if I'll be awake by the end... if not, go Korea!
  23. It would be an injustice if its anything other than a Korea vs. Cuba final. How many times have Korea beaten Japan in this tournament? :x - Terrible set-up.
  24. Well at least we got to see a few youngsters. First time I have ever seen Pie in an actual game, so that was fun at least. Yeah, I know what you mean. It just gets a bit depressing when the Cubs lose to the Sox (or anyone, for that matter). I think I saw Pie in an ST game earlier.... no matter, the point I'm making, it would have been nice if the Sox announcers didn't call him Pie. (Like 3.141.....)
  25. I was wrong to be looking forward to this.
