  1. I'm just glad we rushed to sign him and not take Orlando Hudson for cheaper. That's foresight.
  2. I want Z to play first on the days he isn't pitching. I'm not at all joking. Hey, anything would be an improvement over what is standing over there right now. Zs gonna hit homers. I've seen him shag balls in the outfield and he's hella athletic. I doubt the production would be that far off what Lee is going to give us.

  4. i think it's even more comical that a team with a $120M payroll is regularly using one of their starting pitchers to pinch hit. That's because you can't DL anyone. They could explode while on the DL.
  5. In partial defense of our pitchers.... walks seem to be up this year all over MLB. I wonder if they've put some pressure on the umpires to call the strike zone as it's described in the rules ???? Where are our walks in comparison to last year. As an offense?
  6. He's pitching to contact after the Colorado game.
  7. Oh well last year was fun. We should have known the universe wouldn't allow us to be good for three years in a row.
  8. The farm system has actually gotten much better (though there's obviously room for much improvement, especially in the scouting). Granted, you can't really go anywhere but up from completely awful, but still. I would also like to see changes made to development not just scouting. Besides Geo and Theriot we haven't produced a big league hitter since Grace.
  9. Why would the sale get rid of Hendry? He got that extension. From the ownership in place. I'm hoping the new owner is smart enough to see what an awful job Jim has done and that basically all he has done is out spend the rest of the division. The extension makes that tremendously unlikely. What year is it through? I'm guessing new ownership gives Hendry this upcoming offseason, and his future will depend on where the team is by next June/July. At the very least I hope they shake the rest of the system up. Our minor leagues is a joke. Our drafting has been awful. When this windeow closes, and it looks to be very soon we are in trouble.

The extension makes that tremendously unlikely. A guy can dream can't he. I root for the cubs, I expect them to win it all in my lifetime. I don't put much creedance into likely.

  12. We are such a poorly ran organization. I hope this sale happens soon so we can be rid of Hendry.
  13. Man hopefully we remember the season has started soon.
  14. Don't feel bad Bob thought he was with Oakland the other day too. He even said so on the air when talking about how he thought Matt and CHad Tracy would be battling for the batting crowns.
  15. Relax we sweep Florida and start to feel a lot better.
  16. CUBS are 5-2 when they average 3.7 P/PA or less.... 5-7 when they don't Go CUBS !! Yeah, go figure.
  17. I can handle us struggling, it happens. But, for the love of all things holy, do that Cardinals always have to play way over their heads? Does every Brian Barden and Ryan Ludwick have to turn into gold?
  18. Next year I feel we should try and get a washed out pitcher for center field, I'm thinking Mark Prior. Then a washed out former prospect for left, we could go with Jason Stokes. Finally we need a Third base platoon of former crap that will now become uber productive, lets go Brandon Wood and Alberto Callaspo. I don't see how we don't win 90 plus.
