  1. Ryan Freel get your Joe Thurston/Brian Barden on.
  2. less time please doctor?
  3. We could aslo talk to the Fish about Dan Uggla. They just promoted Chris Coughlan to play some 2b as well. Uggla could be a great guy to stick at third until Ramirez gets bacl.
  4. That's a bit of a stretch. Couldn't they go Dan Uggla and Brian Barden as well? Although I guess Uggla would be more a reflection on Brenly than Melvin.
  5. What do you think May, June and July are? Extra time to talk about Favre. OMG is Tom Brady married? He could be married. Did you see TO doing situps the other day? That's still the offseason. Its the media having to fill the void but from May-July football fans like myself are antsy and counting the days until training camp. Oh and the TO situps clip happened during the NFL season. I thought he did that crap during the pretraining crap? Here is an idea give it a couple months off and it will still be very good.

  7. Whose choice was it to get rid of Quentin in favor of Byrnes? That guy should be canned.
  8. ESPN ruins them both. Football would be so much better if it had an offseason.
  9. How much did he earn while playing at USC?
  10. How about let's give incentive for Hasheem Thabeet and his ilk not to fake injuries so better shooters can shoot the free throws, then come back into the game 30 seconds later? Man let it go, Hasheem is gone now.
  11. You can grab your own shot if it just hits the backboard. Hell guys throw oops to themselves like that. I know, I was saying I don't understand why NewUserName would think that'd be illegal. Gotcha, sorry

OK...logically, if someone is on the wing and picked up their dribble and is well guarded, can they just toss the ball 4 feet away, run and pick it up and shoot? I am pretty sure that this is traveling. That is basically what Kobe did last night, except he used the backboard(yes it was obvious that was not shot). Again I understand that traveling calls have gotten much more liberal through the years. doing a little more research on self pass instead of traveling, there is an NBA rule that says that a player cannot be the first player to touch a shot if it is an air ball, however hitting the backboard and touching first is ok. I am still pretty sure that this rule(and enforcement) has been more liberalized through the years. It's strange because the backboard negates an airball in this case, yet does not with a freethrow or a 24 second violation. I think that is where the confusion stems from.

  14. On a Jason Larue homer.
  15. It also has legitimate use as a fertility drug for males, increasing sperm production. So poor Manny was just trying to have some kids. Manny being Shawn Kemp maybe?
  16. Just thinking about it right now this shows the one of the major flaws with Kobe. Unlike others he uses his superstar status to not get away with fouls but to get away with dirty, trying to injury a guy fouls. Jordan, LeBron ... etc. have too much class to throw elbows and the such. Yep Jordan was all class all the time, just ask Steve Kerr and Danny Ferry. Or for craps and giggles ask Dennis Hopson what he thinks about MJ. To my knowledge, and I was 13 when Jordan retired the 2nd time, Jordan didn't throw elbows. He grabbed jerseys and the such, which a lot of guys have done, but he didn't try to hurt guys by throwing elbows. I love Jordan, but he was borderline dirty many times as well. One you should like. He told Will Perdue once that he should change his name to Will Vanderbilt because he wasn't good enough to be named after a big ten school. He was ruthless to Brad Sellers and Dennis Hopson. Now if he was doing this to team mates you can imagine what he was like to opponents.

  18. Besides Strasberg they also have the extra early pick from the Crow debacle.
  19. Yeah, hell he might end up at UK. I am not saying that's impossible. I just don't think it is a done deal. He asked Carolina to start recruiting him again. If he was so sold on Cal he probably wouldn't be doing that. Plus Cal just added another stud point guard, so he is preparing like he won't have him. Just my opinion though.
  20. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ But how much money will this cost him in the long run? Bad decision on Bledsoe's part. He'll back up Wall this season and then probably Brandon Knight next season. He'll more than likely be over recruited his entire time at Kentucky. Well, they haven't got Wall yet. They probably won't. Duke is in on him too and he isn't even elligible as of yet. Plus he wants to try and go pro immediately. I think it was pry an easy sell. I don't know why you'd say he probably wont. Everyone seems to believe Wall is going to Kentucky. Just seems odd for a five star recruit to sign with a team where there's a good possibility that he'll see limited playing time. Just so many red flags. Hell he is looking for loopholes to go right to the NBA. He also is not qualified. Plus there is Duke recruiting him too. I would say those three things would make it safe to say probably won't end up at Kentucky.
  21. Hell yeah, one of us is gonna win at least 5 games this year. You decide which one. yeah, well so what Eh, we won't be great either. Hopefully a second round tourny team. That and getting the three guys from '10 signed would mean a successful year to me. Oh and Mike Shaw committing would be ok too.
  22. Nah. This was yesterday's minor league thread and Vitters' hit #3 in today's game. I was slightly joking about the potentially poor call the ump made on 5/4. Yeah I followed that, didn't realize the Chiefs played early today. Either way it is awesome to see him start mashing the ball.
