  1. We did this in '07 with Soto. We should probably be trying to ride out Fox's hot streak.
  2. Bob had to wait until it would help his Astros.
  3. One pitch to Braun away from being in first, by ourselves.
  4. Vitters has a .308/.348/.449 line so far this year. Wieters has not been called up. His line in AAA is .263/.366/.368. Peoria is A-ball right? With Boise & Daytona being low-A ? Daytona is High A.
  5. I think our farm is getting better. Thomas has some value as does the kid from Vanderbilt. But, yeah we don't have a ton of depth.
  6. He's happy that the Cubs are starting to play better so when he gets traded to Chicago in a couple months, he'll be going to a good team. i know that peavy is a great pitcher, but shouldn't the cubs have some leverage in any trade negotiations? the padres are clearly going nowhere the next couple of years, and they'll be paying peavy a lot of money to pitch well for a terrible team. plus he has limited the number of teams he will go to. it seems to me the cubs shouldn't have to give up the farm for him. I think you're right, but given the condition of our farm, it wouldn't take much to deplete it... I can't see a deal being done unless Vitters is shipped, for example If you can get a stud pitcher who is under control for a few years and only 27, you don't let Josh Vitters hold that up.
  7. Nothing Ive heard yet, Im guessing hes just getting a day off after a night game last night. With a suspension coming couldn't he play one more game. You know Watson is waiting for the Astros series to rule on the suspension.
  8. There wasn't any incentive for the Padres to trade a cheap outfielder by the name of Jason Bay (along with Oliver Perez) for Brian Giles, either. But it happened. Except they were going for a playoff spot. This isn't, or wouldn't be, the same thing at all. With a 52-81 record on August 26th, 2003, the Padres traded for Brian Giles so that they could get a playoff spot? Awesome. I hope they made it. Oh, wait. Ok, that does make no kind of sense. Why the hell did they do that?
  9. Beltran, Youkillis, Cabrera, Lilly, Molina, and Dunn have been the other end of that deal. Seems to me the only guys it hurts are the one who don't get regular playing time as they miss out on a ton of at bats.

  11. I doubt Lee would want to play in San Diego in a contract year. He has a no trade clause. No way that deal could happen. He is from Cali though so you never know. Although I believe he was upstate a bit in Sacramento. San Diego is as close to Sacramento as Chicago is to Toronto. That's just strange to think about.
  12. I doubt Lee would want to play in San Diego in a contract year. He has a no trade clause. No way that deal could happen. He is from Cali though so you never know. Although I believe he was upstate a bit in Sacramento. Was originally drafted by the Padres too I believe. But still, he has to know his lack of power would kill his numbers in Petco. Not a good choice before your free agency hits.

  14. Adrian would look good sitting next to Lou. Nice bat off the bench. At least that what we all should be thinking cause no way is Lou ever going to sit Lee.
  15. Last year when there was lightning against Houston they wasted no time calling it for a loss for us. This year they are sure taking their sweet time with the decision. Just call it.
  16. Our biggest curse has been the idiots running the franchise.
  17. Really when the seasons over you know you'll be looking up at us. It's what you do best. Seriously you've had a great start. We've had Z get hurt. Ramirez get hurt. DLee get hurt. Marmol get hurt. Soto's hitting .150. Bradley is hitting .180. DLee is hitting .200. But, you have a 1.5 game lead on us. Good for you.
  18. Albert Pujols is the same guy, but better, we don't hate him. We respect him, in fact he's my favorite player to watch in the game today. But, he doesn't behave like a baby at all times. This shouldn't be too difficult to understand. And Pujols is actually a really good defender as well. You know, the kind that can actually field and has obvious defensive talents that extend beyond getting bad reads/jumps, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, not getting to balls and therefore not being charged with errors. With Pujols you hate that he is so good, you are even jealous, but you respect him. With Braun, you just hate him. He's a punk. I don't even hate that I like Pujols anymore. We are seeing a true star, might as well enjoy it. Especially since we have been able to beat his team two years in a row.
  19. Albert Pujols is the same guy, but better, we don't hate him. We respect him, in fact he's my favorite player to watch in the game today. But, he doesn't behave like a baby at all times. This shouldn't be too difficult to understand. Pujols should act more mature than Braun considering he's what 39-40 years old. Fair enough.
  20. Don't bounce it and throw it from the mound, not in front of the mound. agreed you only get one chance to toe the rubbber.

  22. Miguel Angel Sano is one of - if not the - biggest free agents looking to sign this July. Someone get him a better hat.
