  1. Oh, agreed. I've tried to make it pretty clear this is super unlikely. I'm just wondering what would happen if it did go down like that. I would imagine that you would never be able to recruit from that kids state again. I mean you would hope it would never come to that.
  2. Hypothetical question: if a kid doesn't have his scholarship renewed, does he still have to sit out a year to play elsewhere? Almost certain this is the case. I think if you petitioned the NCAA you might get a ruling in your favor for hardship. Has this ever happened? Doesn't the kid always transfer before it gets to this?
  3. The fans here in KC are pretty fired up for opening day as well. I'm going tomorrow.
  4. Every junior should apply for the draft. You get to once while being allowed to come back. Plus part of the process is the scouts meet with you to let you know what you need to work on at the end. It allows you to get good feedback and get your name out there. Plus you get to play against some great players. But, yeah he isn't ever going to be a pro. Right, but I thought I heard he was expected to hire an agent. Well then he's an idiot.
  5. probably gonna have to run someone off. Unless sherron and cole go pro. Per the Phog Appleton and Quintrell are transfering. i gotta be honest, that kind of bums me out, even though it means we have room for a difference maker. College sports can be pretty nasty. A kid like Appleton could have gotten a ton of minutes and been a difference maker at ISU (whom I think was a finalist). When you join Kansas at the stage in which he joined them, it shouldn't be surprising if you get recruited over. I understand it's an ego thing and all the peeps around them say they're the man. It just comes down to whether you want to play for an average/below average team or never play for a really good team. A kid like Isaiah Dahlman was down to Iowa and Michigan State when Alford was still here and was ranked right around 100 nationally. He probably would have had a really prominent role (especially in Lickliter's offense) at Iowa and helped win some more games. Instead he's basically never played a meaningful minute in 3 years. Maybe he would still do that again, I just don't get it sometimes. He did get to take part in a championship game appearance though. But yeah, he probably would have liked to play. I think the thing about the top 100 kids is they all think that they are good enough to play no matter what. But, in reality, if you're a borderline top 100 kid Carolina or Kansas probably isn't the place for you. Wear twins, I'm looking at you.

It is what it is. The coaches get paid a lot and have to win. I don't like it, but I get it.
  8. Especially after you ran a red light in the first place.
  9. Man that's awful. Just awful.

  11. The Royals have a lot of good pitching in the minors too. Albeit at the lower levels.
  12. I always take the "returning" section with a grain of salt. Flynn was in that column and he sounded pretty adamant when he was saying he'd return and then the story that he was testing the waters came out yesterday. His coach is making him test the waters. Told him he owes it to himself.
  13. Hpefully Vitters has asuch a good year that I forget all about Matt Wieters.
  14. Michael Jordan. LeBron has to win a a title before you can even think about that.
  15. I'm rooting for MSU because the only person I have any level of emotion for that's better than 'totally detest' in the UNC program is the criminally underrated Ty Lawson. Lawson's awesome. Too bad I think he's a tick too small for the pros.
  16. I thought UNC was the best team all year. I hope MSU can suprise em though.
  17. i wasn't talking about the past 8 years, i was talking about this year. the pissing match about whose conference is better than whose is based on this year's results; michigan st was easily the best team in the conference this year. oh, then I agree. Although a healthy Hummel and it is close. He's the best player ever.
  18. Well, I haven't had an opportunity to rub it in their faces lately, thanks to Davweisinghamie. FTR, Illinois won exactly one game under 60 points this year. and we weren't super, but it still happens.
  19. and since we had a good conference we took issue with it, why is this so hard for you to understand?I'm explaining why the SEC wasn't talked about for its weaknesses. And it was because that wasn't a point anyone was debating, so it wasn't brought up as much. Why so hard for YOU to understand? So why were we debating how weak the Big Ten was when we had the second best conference rpi all year? Oh, I know because we had the audacity to start our own network. That's right. And when Notre Dame football got its own network deal, we started getting the same treatment. You act like I have no idea what it's like to be treated irrationally by ESPN and company. and I'm sure that doesn't piss you off at all.

  21. Michigan State and Purdue played a total of one game that they won scoring under 60. It can happen, but it doesn't happen often. We won a few and were under that. We also finished in between those two teams.

  23. Im sorry but the "Big Ten honks" deserve to come out and talk some [expletive]. The Big 10 has been killed by every major sports journalist/tv commentator, and fans of all other major conference. Everybody all year wanted to kiss the Big Easts ass, and yet the Big Ten Champ manhandled the Big East Champ in Louisville, and took it too UConn. Plain and Simple. BIG EAST KILLERS! :D well people are dumb about the big 10 and don't realize that the teams DO have offensive ability, but a lot of them just play a slow style. i find it boring but that doesn't mean that big ten teams can't play with teams who do score. but let's be honest, this is one big 10 team that is playing really well and is head and shoulders above the rest of the league. this isn't really vindication for the big 10 - no other team in the conference had a decent chance to get past the sweet 16. overall i think it's a lot more impressive to have 4 teams make the elite 8 and 2 in the final 4 than it is to have 1 team make the finals. Michigan State has one conference title the last, I think, 8 years. They are not head and shoulders above everyone else.

BIG EAST KILLERS! :D Well, I'm convinced. The Big 10 was better! I don't think we were better, but we were good enough that everyone didn't need to take popshots at us all year long. That's pretty much were I stand (I think most agree). The Big Ten was a solid, deep conference this year that didn't deserve to be treated like the SEC (which really got off easy relatively). It was crap. You don't have to score 90 points a game to have a good basketball game. You can play a great game, win, and score in the 50s. It happens.
