I felt really bad for the others going in tonight. They were really overshadowed. But, came away from that with a ton of respect for Stringer. Her story should get a ton more play than it does.

Take Arod and David Wright away and Aramis Ramirez is arguably the best 3B in baseball. Take Beltran, Kemp, Sizemore and Granderson away Fukudome is the best CF in baseball. Take away the Cards and we are going to the playoffs again... -

The outfields are too big at these road parks. Jake will be allowed to play at itsy bitsy outfields tho. That's awesome. We trotted Soriano out in those big ass parks, but we can't Fox. Man we run a smart operation.

In all fairness, the Cards have only lost, what, like 3 or 4 games since July 30, right?! :wink: They are convincing themselves they are the evil empire of the national league. I really hope Holliday walks and Carpenter remembers he's made of glass next year.

Griffey is perhaps the hardest guy to get an autograph of in the game today. Don't even bother with sending it to him through the mail. According to sportscollectors.net Griffey has written back 2 times out of 70 in the last 11 years. The same person said they got him twice and yet, didn't include a picture for either one. Don't waste your card or stamps. I would still try calling the Mariners and explaining what you are wanting to do. Griffey always seemed pretty down to earth to me. He probably doesn't handle his own mail which is why he never autographs cards and sends them back. I doubt it would work but a phone call can't hurt. Since its not for profit and not for yourself it could happen. And what you would get from them is a package with a schedule and a few things tossed in. Because honestly what would prevent everyone or anyone from doing this? Plus Griffey is not very autograph friendly at all. Your best bet is to get on Ebay and try and buy a certified autograph of Ken.

I don't see this season as being alot like 2004 honestly. I can remember looking at our lineup and our staff in 2004 and thinking that we were the best in baseball. The only similarity I see with 04 is this team was picked to win the division. Because at no point this offseason or especially since the season started, did I think of them as the best in baseball. This season is frustrating, but 04 was way worse. I still don't see how we missed the damn playoffs that year. At least the '04 Cards team was really good from the get go. This years model wasn't until July 24th. Yet, they are going to blow past what our loaded team did last year.

The Cardinals are going to win 10o games. Pretty much every year that we are picked to win the division you should always then bet on the Cardinals. This has been so much like '04.
