  1. Actually, my mom is having surgery that day. can't she postpone it For our playoff push?
  2. No they won't. They never released Neifi. Hendry's not going to admit that mistake. Neifi was head and shoulders above Miles. At least Neifi had a 2-week hot streak in him. Miles is 1 for his last 7,000 at-bats. He's got an OPS lower that some hitters OBP. I know, but I can just hear the spin we will get about how he can't be this bad again next year. It was a fluke and all. I really hope I am wrong, but I bet he's still here. Ricketts will personally remove him from the team. He'll pick the midget up by his collar and toss him out onto Clark. No way Miles is on the team next season. I hope that you are right.

  5. He needs to be on our roster next year, even if it's as a late inning defensive replacement. He can't really be though if Miles is still taking up a spot. aaron miles, the gift that keeps giving Hendry is very good at his job.

  7. I'm not arguing, but if we could pursue a really good shortstop and then slide him to 2B, wouldn't that be win win? Kick the tires on Jose Reyes. I wonder if the pricetag on him has come down a bit.
  8. Somewhere Jim Hendry is telling his wife that he can't believe how bad Kevin Gregg has been. She's laughing at him too.
  9. If teams 15 and 16 tie, whats the tie breaker? Whatever it is we will find a way to lose it too.
  10. Why couldn't I have grown up outside of St. Louis?
  11. Nice call on Fontenot. Just let Z hit then pull him after the inning. I really want the two LSU midgets gone.
  12. Nice offense. I'm glad the guys decided to quit taking pitches. It certainly didn't work last year.
  13. I just hope Milton is our right fielder again next year. If Milton Bradley was the worst thing about the team this year. We would have won well over 100 games.
  14. Milton Bradley is the hardest guy to get out on the team. He passed up Kosuke?
  15. Please show me the time Bradley cried to the media about fans being racist. I don't want to split hairs, but this comment while not coming out and stating that Cubs fans are racist, I think his intent is pretty clear: "America doesn't believe in racism. All I'm saying is I just pray the game is nine innings, so I can be out there the least amount of time as possible and go home." - Milton Bradley Right. That was his response to a reporter asking him if the mistreatment he received (in his mind, anyway) was due to racism. I definitely don't see how this constitutes "crying to the media about fans being racist." He cried to the media about hatred while being intentionally vague and the obvious question was does that mean race is involved. The media didn't bait him. He brought up the hatred idea. Up until that point he had a couple guys in the media, namely Kaplan and Stone, who ragged on him constantly, and a handful of fans giving him a hard time. Since that time it's been horrible. But he brought the whole thing up in the first place. He's the scapegoat for this entire team crapping the bed. It's almost like a lot are booing him because he was Jim's big offseason target, like it's booing Jim.
  16. He very well may have made the right decision. I would have still liked Dunn just because of age. But, Bradley was a good sign.
  17. Getting rid of Bradley would be so Cubs. Continue the tradition of not knowing what the real problems are. 200 years here we come.
  18. Another reason why I would be trying to get someone from the Red Sox chain in here. No way anyone from an organization that treasures OBP. is going to let Milton go. But, if Hendry is still here that will happen. Just like after '04 when we had to get rid of both Moises and Sammy. Then we will repeat '05 next year. With '06 not too far away.
  19. I disagree in a way. Miles is the problem in that it shows our GM would rather throw away money on some garbage veteran as opposed to filling out our last parts of the roster with some young, league minimum kid from the system. Maybe had we done a bit more of that, we could have afforded to upgrade the offense this year at the deadline. Thats the point. But that doesnt make Miles the problem. That makes Hendry the problem. Was Miles supposed to just say no to the free 5 million dollars? Hell no, but it should have been Andres Blanco from jump street. Had Blanco, Darwin Barney, or whoever proves in spring training that he couldnt do the job, then they could have gone out and gotten an Alex Cintron or Esteban German type for league minimum or less, and they couldnt possible have been worse than Miles, but no, Hendry jumped all over Miles like a house wife on the last Tickle Me Elmo at chrismas time. Which is why I don't get how anyone can think Hendry deserves more time here. Sure the next guy could be worse, but it's reached the point where Jim needs to go.

  21. You must have only been a Cubs fan since last November then. May 1972 when I took my first breath. At least that team last year actually made the playoffs before crapping themselves. As far as sheer embarasment, there have been many moments, but I cant think of any as bad as the 2008 playoffs, especially since it followed the 2007 playoffs 2008 was probably the best year we will ever have. A lot of Cubs fans were born and died without seeing a team that was as good as our team was last year. If you want to let 3 games ruin that. Well, that's on you.
  22. agreed, much harder than just letting it rip and hoping you guessed right.
