  1. I like what I've seen of X so far. I want to see if he can defend, though. I'd also like to see him drive the ball. He's built like an NBA player. He should be able to use his strength to get to the rack. X is good, but I wonder if he will be able to tap into everything he can do this year. KU is trying to win a title and as a result X will have to play more of a role than most frosh that good do. We're going to rely heavily on him, that's for sure, but it will be a pretty defined role. I don't think he'll be able to tap into everything he can do. What we need most is shooting, defense, and boards out of him. It would probably be better for him to stay a second year from a player dev perspective.. But it might help Self if he went one and done, so players will believe Self can deliver one-and-doners to the NBA. On the Phog they are saying that Illinois would lose to both Hofstra and Memphis. It amazes me how Kansas fans think they are so much better than Illinois every year, but still feel the need to take shots at us and keep tabs on us. I think we would beat both of those team pretty easily. We aren't that bad anymore.

  3. Yes. If JB redshirts his scholly is occupied for five years. just trying to figure out a way to get out of next season. who does bruce ask to leave? semrau's proving to be an important piece and getting rid of simpson would not endear him to public league schools. He's gonna tell Richard he can play, but that he will have to pay.
  4. The Pac-10 is so bad it's not even funny. I wonder if Dunnigan wishes he would have stayed at home and went to school? Oregon is pretty bad. Apparently Dunnigan DNP in Oregon's loss to Portland. If he's not playing as a sophomore, you can bet he isn't too pleased. Admittedly Bobo Morgan is still not getting into games as a sophomore for UCLA. dunigan's a punk, i take pleasure in his failure. I thought it was Humphrey that was more the punk?

But still, he and Liggins made great choices for their futures. Is Liggins gonna transfer soon or what?
  6. Yeah Richmond falling so far is a joke.

  8. Weber always sat DMac after he did cool things in the past. Weber is a cool hater. Seriously though I don't mind him reminding Brandon to drive. He's a good shooter, but needs to slash to be completely effective. i'd rather see him get to the basket than shoot threes. he's not jamar smith, he's so much more, the kid can get his shot whenever he wants to and he can get to the hoop like no one we've had in a while. he's big time. this guy is d wade. Agreed. Snood underrated him a bunch when he was talking about Self not wanting him. We were lucky to get him locked up early on the recruiting process. Jesus, you're still upset about that? I was half joking and half pointing out the Self was aiming higher trying to get henry. Now Paul could end up being better than X, but X was considered a much higher-level recruit. Not upset. Just saying I do think he was underrated by everyone. Not your fault.

  11. Syracuse had a loss. Wasn't that an exhibition game though? Yes it was which is the best part of Andy's streak. Keep talking. Were you counting exhibitions in that?

  13. Yeah the Phillies will be in this. But, unless they will agree to move Drabek they won't get him either.
  14. The Nets don't even get to keep their pick this year. It goes to Utah for Giricek. Wow, nice work NJ front office. :banghead:
  15. Basically the trade was fine. We still could have had enough to win the division, who could have predicted Carpenter would do what he did this past year?
  16. What do you consider super great? Only top 5 teams? If so then you can make that statement every year. Otherwise the Big Ten has more than MSU. I think anyone that you know has a deep run in them come tourny time. You know MSU does. A few other teams could, but it will depend on their draw. And last year the Big East had three or four teams you could count on sticking around for a couple of rounds. I'm just not that high on the other teams. They all could be good, but right now have some warts.
  17. For someone who talks about how little things matter in college basketball this early you sure like to brag about meaningless Big East things. There are 20 posters in this thread who will spend the entire season fellating the Big Ten, so I guess I just have to pick up the slack, don't I? I just thought it was a cool little run to have at the start of the year. I'm not stupid enough to draw blanket conclusions about the Big East based on mostly meaningless games, but it's good to see Cuse beating up on UNC, great to see DePaul beating a good mid-major team. Since I really don't think Notre Dame's going to be making headlines apart from Harangody, I'm planning on enjoying the entire conference, hence my interest. While there are some B10 homers here, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that you will talk about people fellating the B10 a great deal more than it will actually happen, which is saying something. The Big Ten is deep, but it isn't super great at the top. Besides MSU of course.
  18. Why doesn't Jim understand that there is no need to pay big money to middle relievers? Have any of those signings turned out well for him yet?
  19. Ok, so after watching a half, watford, creek, and rivers look like they may become decent players. The freshman are fine, but can someone tell me why IU is having such a lousy recruiting year presently? I just checked rivals, and they ZERO players in the top 100 and only 2 in the top 150.....This isn't really acceptable. You can't rebuild with one good class and then nada... Kansas also has no one. Isn't there still a decent amount of top 150 that are still unsigned though?
  20. Last year at this time a certain poster on here tried to tell a lot of us that Paul wasn't an "A" type recruit..... Terrible end to the half. More on Bruce though. Can't have DMac and Paul out at the same time without Jordan playing.
  21. that about sums it up. I wonder who we could get to fill the position. I hear good things about Bill Callahan. They should hire Ron Turner. He will turn things around.
  22. But, they scored in the 40s thus the whole Big East sucks. Or will that not apply this year? Georgetown runs the Princeton offense and almost never gets more than the low 70s. They're also young and not that good (yet). A lot of that apllied to us last year and it didn't stop us from getting the whole conference branded. The Big Ten was the slowest big 6 conference last year by a wide margin. Not a single team in the conference played at even an average pace. This year, at least, Indiana is stressing a pace push. I don't care about pace. I don't like hearing how that pace means we play poor basketball. You don't have to score 85 plus to have a good basketball team.
