  1. The guy is 80 freaking years old. What if his own accord means coaching until he's 97 years old, blind and in a wheelchair? Should they let him do that because they owe it to him? Eventually, a program needs to do what is best for itself. The program wouldn't be anything with out him. Wait him out. He's been loyal to them for 30 odd years, would it kill them now to be loyal to him for another 5? It might. Building the program from the ground up won't matter much if he runs the team back into it. I guess, just think Bobby should leave on his own accord. I also don't think that FSU is run into the ground by any means.

  3. I agree. I think in that case the grim realities of CBB come into play. Offer both. Take the first who agrees. If it's the lesser of two players, tell the better one you still want him. If he wants a scholly, too, you gotta bump someone else from the squad. Yeah it really sucks. I hate to see guys get forced out, but with reality being what it is most coaches have no choice. It's turning more and more into college footbal which is a bad thing.
  4. Yeah I think we are handling the situation well. We are going to probably bank a scholly and I am cool with that. Just land two more guys for the 11 class then get to work on 13.
  5. Maryland hasn't been impressive and that has gotten hopes up among IU's fanbase. The line, last I checked, was only Maryland -5. I'd take Maryland and laugh all the way to the bank (as much as I hope that prediction is incorrect). I'm sure at Assembly Hall IU will be better than they showed in Puerto Rico -- though they were unimpressive Saturday at home -- but I would be stunned if IU wins. However, I no longer necessarily expect a demolition as I did before the season. Yeah I would take Maryland just bcause of Vazquez
  6. That's what I think as well. I don't see Randle ending up with us. Also I am very glad that Beal isn't at KU. I don't know why Weber continued to waste effort on Beal when he didn't commit (shortly after he was offered) and was talking about keeping his options open or exploring other avenues, etc. If a kid really wants to go to your school he'll commit, when he starts the keeping his options open talk move on. That's crazy talk. You only want commits that decide a week after you offer? Would anyone on our roster be on our team if that was our strategy? We wouldn't have any of the freshmen. agreed. I don't think he meant that as it came out though. I think he meant that he would rather not lose other great players because you are concentrating so much on an elite player that you don't have a great chance to land. If that's the case I agree. It hurt us a lot a few years ago. We could have possibly had E'Twaun Moore had we not been waiting around on Eric Gordon. But, yeah you cannot just take kids who commit right away. Or else you will end up with a bunch of mid major kids who were blown away by an Illinois offer.
  7. Isn't the big thing for Notre Dame now to actually hire a guy and have everyone be behind him for more than just two years? I realize Fat Charlie got some time, but hell for the past two years everyone has been calling for his head. Guess what, it's not the 60s anymore, there are other great programs now. Notre Dame isn't going to be fixed in a 3 year period.

Eh, if a top 10 kid lists you, you still have to pay attention to him. I do think we offered Randle and he didn't jump for whatever reason. From what I've read though Randle has had an offer for a bit and we would have taken him reguardless of what Beal did.
  9. Nope, it's because they are Duke. You gotta embrace it. Every year they are in the top ten, every year they are out by round two. Yet, Coach K is a master coach who gets the most out of his players. 1) Purdue jumped a bunch of teams after their win, including Duke. Before either win, Duke was ahead of Purdue, so.. 2) Duke dominated UConn much more than Purdue and Tennessee. The game was never really in doubt after the first 15 minutes, maybe. 3) Duke's team is much different this year than in past year. But sure, it is because they are Duke. You are right. Duke never gets a break because they are Duke. Most of the time a team the shoots a mahority of their shot from the three point line end up shooting way more free throws than their opponent. Especially when they are the ones playing the tight pressure defense the entire game. Also Greg Paulus, Lance Thomas, Brian Zoubek, Casey Sanders, Josh McRoberts were all guys who should have been 5 star McDonalds All Americans. They also should always play their first two rounds of the NCAA tournament in North Carolina. But, yeah they are on the same system everyone else is. As for Duke being a different team, bwhahaaha is Scheyer still playing point guard for you? If so you'll once again be lucky to make the second weekend.
  10. Who is this guy for Virginia?
  11. This things gonna come down to us beating Clemson. Dammit.
  12. Come on Penn State. Finish this out.
  13. Is Taylor Battle a pro?
  14. Two straight horrible out of bounds calls that favored Virginia.

  16. Taylor Battle is doing one.
  17. I think he thinks he will cross his fingers and hope for a coaching change at another school. If I had to guess.
  18. Doesn't seem right. He built that program. He should be able to leave on his own accord. JMHO.
  19. 2 titles in the last 5 years though. Yeah, but how many Helms titles do they have? That's what I thought. It's hard to complain too much, since had two 5* and a 4* last year, five 4* in 2008, two 4* the year befor, etc. Still, it seems like we can't get an early commit from any top recruit. I get losing Barnes to UNC. UNC is the premier program out there right now. But losing Beal to UF kind of bugs me. We really need Lamb, Selby, or Knight. I'm hoping it's Knight. True, just seems odd that a lot of these kids are going elsewhere. What was the kid that chose FSU? Snear? I hear that Florida might lead for Knight too, and Uconn for one of the other. Snaer is coming off the bench for FSU. Lamb is likely UConn. Knight looks like UF. Selby UK. So we're effed. Yeah right, Self always has a plan.

  22. Yeah kinda seems like a let down. I was expecting one of our set of posters to be happy. What the hell is going on with Kansas' recruiting lately?
  23. 2 titles in the last 5 years though.
  24. I don't care about the voice or any of that. I just see too many patterns that he repeats. We get up and then we just sit on the ball. It sure works well for us instead of trying to just finish teams out. Think of how many losses that we have had that were very similar to last nights. Up by 5 with the ball under 2 minutes. That should almost never happen. But, it does to us a lot. I also don't like the fact that he's benching a talent but allows Jordan to play, who was just as out of control last night, really how many times did the moron try to throw a jump pass? Plus he owes nothing to Jordan, who quit on the team once already. Play the talented freshman. We will still lose some games, but at least then we will lose while the fresh are gaining experience. As for the Beal thing, I am tired of watching talented kids sit while untalented ones play. It happened a lot the last few years. He loves to play the kids who are liabilities on offense(Chester Frazier) and not those that are on defense(DMac). Guess what, you have to score to win. So while Brandon Paul make a mistake and play out of control, you have to play him 30 minutes a night. You wouldn't be in this boat had you recruited anyone for his spot the few years before. Also sitting him the last 8 minutes after he went on a 7-0 run on his own last night was insane. Oh and the Bill Self thing, we lost a pretty great coach. I know we might have got in trouble with the NCAA, but I doubt it.
  25. Me too. I also love having the best college hoops team in the state *ducks* You might be selling ISU short.
