  1. Matt Garza has been a dissapointment thus far.
  2. How in the hell does Daytona be the one that doesn't get rained out?
  3. It doesn't matter how they strike you. It matters how they strike the Bulls, and whether they think it's a motivational tool. Rose read those comments and immediately decided to up his shooting percentage to 44% on just 33 shots per game. Like Rose knows how to read. He patterned his life after KG.
  4. You have one title in the last 20 years. Some of us have over 6 in that time frame. Quiet while we talk about the NBA. Please stop talking about the Cubs and Illinois basketball Lol, I try not to talk about the Cubs much anymore.
  5. I'm not a big fan of Russell starting either, but he didn't exactly get lit up last night. 3 solid hits, a couple dinks, and a couple bunts coupled with some poor defense. He pitched poorly but not nearly as poorly as the result he got. As for why Russell came out, he was on a pitch count. I don't think it was for performance reasons. Dempster has plenty of times before managed to squeeze an extra inning out of a situation where he was already laboring. That's why he has managed to throw so many innings the last few years. The main problem I have with that is trying to do it so early in the season when he's less likely to have his maximum stamina. Weren't we basically gonna lose that game regardless? We never hit Myers.
  6. You have one title in the last 20 years. Some of us have over 6 in that time frame. Quiet while we talk about the NBA. Ahh good ponit. That's why he has to interject his thoughts about the Bulls every 2 seconds. In his defense the Celtics killed it when there were 10 teams in the league and you could only have two black guys playing for you.

  8. Yeah no reason for us out of staters to make the trip lately. But Cubs in KC for 4 games. Freaking awesome.
  9. Man the bad thing is at some point we are gonna start to play some decent teams.
  10. They only have 3 seniors, so it's probably difficult to go too hard on other guys without knowing if the Morii or Selby were coming back. They are in on some more guys than just those 3 though. Self hasn't had this issue in the past. He recruited Deron Williams and Dee Brown to Illinois when Frankie Willimas still had one year left. I think there is more to Self struggling with recruiting now than this. the price of gas is really high, maybe he had to switch from a dump truck full of cash to a prius No, in all seriousness I would think there are a couple of reasons why. 1. Cal ending up at Kentucky. They go after the same guys, Cal does whatever it takes to get the top guy. Before when he was at Memphis, some of the elite recruits weren't as easily sold on Cal, they weren't playing in a major conference. When he went to UK it hurt Kansas. 2. The perception that Self isn't good at prepping kids for the NBA. I don't agree with this one as I think he has done a good job of developing some kids. The Morri, Darnell Jackson, and Cole Alrdich come to mind. But, the elite top of the line talent see the supposed one and done guys; Rush, Arthur, and Selbys struggle in year one and have to stick around. Plus a lot of their pros of late have underperformed where they were drafted. Brandon Rush, Darrel Arthur, Julian Wright, Cole Ardich, Xavier Henry, etc. That whole group really hasn't made a large mark on the NBA. 3. The perception that KU rarely plays to seed in the NCAA tournament. Whereas UK, Duke, and UnC generally tend to go farther and play closer to their seed. I only agree with the first one, but feel that the others play into why Self has struggled of late getting the one and done guys. I don't get why he isn't going after more 4 stars. He does a lot better with them anyways.

  12. lmao. that should be his bio at KUathletics. I still think he could be a good player if he stuck around. He was dinged up this year, which hurt his mobility. But yeah, I think rivals swung and missed rating him the #1 prospect. I just can't help but see WILLIEWARRENWILLIEWARRENWILLIEWARREN I think you could argue he wasn't as good as Willie Warren.
  13. Both of the Mensa twins signed with an agent.
  14. You know that Sullinger will be back and they can't steal it from him again only to give it to another less talented Purdue kid, right? I'd take Sullinger over Johnson or Hummel so fast it'd make your head spin. I have no problem picking Sullinger over Hummel as the favorite for Big 10 Player of the Year next year. I do have a problem with people implying that Johnson stole the award from Sullinger this year. Especially given the disparity in points per game and blocks per game; Sullinger had much more talent around him and wasn't as important to his team as Johnson was to Purdue; finally, while Johnson's and Sullinger's numbers were about even when the Big Ten schedule started, Johnson pulled away after that point. Sullinger was a great player this year and a deserving All American. He was not as good as Johnson though. Who on Ohio State was as good as E'Twaun Moore? Besides Sullinger?
  15. He won't. Drug use, two fights with teammates, and failed classes. No way. Enjoy Europe. Maybe he and Selby can go halvsies on a Frommer's Guide as they begin their overseas careers. Richmond is still 6'7". He will get drafted.
  16. You know that Sullinger will be back and they can't steal it from him again only to give it to another less talented Purdue kid, right? haha, steal it... like JJ didn't deserve recognition... you might want to check his trophy case since pretty much the rest of America disagrees with you... Most of America had Dee Brown the Big Ten player of the Year over Deron Williams in 05 too, didn't make it right.

  18. From a totally emotionally detached perspective(i.e. not caring about him as a human being), should we root for him to fail so they blame him for his failures, or root for him to succeed so we don't get blamed for his failures? I don't even care. I am rooting for us to be awful next year. This era has to end. It's one turd after another. That's dumb. And I bet you won't I won't, but probably won't have to. Man where the hell are the points gonna come from? Brandon Paul and?

  20. Jesus, really hope this doesn't impact us with the 2013 kids from Chicago. Less than impressive year for our first burger boy since Dee.
