good. can we have josiah turner then? (personally i think UA is a much better gig than Maryland) No. UCLA gets first dibs. you're gonna get shabazz muhammed. leave something for the rest of us. Recruiting has proven to be tougher with an AD that's actually paying attention to what's going on. :wink:

Most of the guys they have we could have had if we were willing to spend big on the draft. Hopefully Ricketts will be willing to do so. take nothing away from the royals - they've done great to go well above slot to grab talents like myers, crow, dwyer, hosmer, etc, but they've also had the advantage of being consistently lousy and drafting at the front of each round. players like hosmer, moustakas and crow were not available when we were drafting. plus even their slot picks have had an above-average number of hits lately. they're doing the draft right... cubs are not. I get missing on the top guys, we had no chance to get them. But it would be nice to sign the great player everyone loves but dropped due to signability. Zack Lee for example last year, instead it seems we are hell bent on doing things our own way. -
I get that. But at the All Star game, I know no defense, he was getting to the rim and was finishing with explosiveness. He doesn't seem to have that gear right now. That's what made me think he was hurt. Unless of course he hit a wall lately.

MAN I haven't watched a lot of the Lakers this year, but after seeing them the past few games it looks to me like Bryant is done as an elite player. He can't just do whatever he wants to anymore. Is he hurt?

Afer June 1st for sure. This move is gonna cost them a lot of money, but they had to do it. Eric was hitting .439. I imagine Duffy is next. -

I wouldn't have. That at bat was awful. Putz just walked a guy on four pitches. Baker jumps on his first pitch. The pitcher is in trouble. I hope someday we get a GM who values patient hitters. Not one that allows one of his more patient and productive hitters to hit 8th. I didn't say it was a good at bat just that I trust Baker there more than Dewitt right now. If you can't trust DeWitt to hit there though then he really has no spot on the roster.

The only problem with that is that the Cubs already only have 4 starters. I'm aware.

We picked up a 5th year senior transfer from Bradley, so we only have one opening for this year(which will probably go unfilled, leaving 2 for '12) With the monster '13 class, I'd be surprised/disappointed if we didn't roll one of the two to 2013. I'm worrying a bit that PU and IU are done with their 2013 classes. Hopefully we haven't slipped in recruitting again. I know it's still early but a verbal would be nice. IU's not done with 2013. Even with being 2 over in 2012 they still have 1 open scholarship in 2013. Once the dust settles and they figure out 2012 more scholarships than that might be open for 2013. Ok you aren't done, but you have a hell of a start.

Sorry not a good head then, but I stand by he's at the least 6'7" and probably 6'8". A bad head, then There is no bad head.
