    When you've been told how great you are since you were a junior in High School, there aren't many people that would probably earn his respect for their own playing career. I would also say that after the way he treated Cleveland last year that he isn't very respectful at all.

    SS don't hit in KC. Ask Tony Pena Jr., Andres Blanco, or Yuniesky Bettancourt.

    Betemit isn't the type of guy you let block a good prospect. With Aviles going to AAA, I'd expect to see Betemit logging some more time at SS and 2B. Betemit isn't going to push Alcides Escobar off of time at SS. They have some young pitchers up and another about to come up, they'll want the great defensive shorstop out there. Has Wilson played 2B before?

    Or how he has only gotten to the free throw line like 16 times in 5 games. He should be getting there 8-10 times a game minimum. Maybe he's trying to save my skull from the damage caused from beating it against the wall when people bitch about him going to the line too much. Or maybe he is a super talented athlete who isn't as good a basketball player as he could and should be? LeBron is great now, but he should be so much better than he is.

    Chalmers was 4-6 from 3 point range. Assists are bad things now? I remember when that [expletive] Jordan backed off of taking the last shot against the Suns and Jazz. What an [expletive]. Remember when he had two points total in two 4th quarters of big games, while his team was colapsing? Me either.

    And the only 2 LHP were David Clyde ('73) and Brien Taylor ('91)....so 2/2 on failures with HS pitchers at #1. I've never heard of Danny Goodwin (#1 in '75 from Peoria) Is Goodwin the guy who went number 1 twice?

    Rich Hill and Seam Marshall are two more we developed. We just then chose to not use them in that role. But, both of those guys were good starters that we turned out.

    I understand it's you opinion, but I'm sorry, the bold part is a terrible reason to not dramatically improve your team, especially not for the sake of holding on to the prospects who like will have nothing close to the impact a player like Garza does. Avoiding being bad for prolonged periods of time hinges on having more players like Garza. I just am all for doing this for good hitters, we have sucked at developing them. Had we done that deal for David Wright, cool. But we have developed a lot of nice pitchers of late. I hate trading away prospects for them.

    Just thinking from we were are at we need to be hoarding prospects and we gave away two pretty good ones. The Cubs don't need to be hoarding prospects; most prospects do not pan out. They need to continue improving the farm system so that you can both develop players internally and have the resources to make trades for valuable players like Garza when they're available. We traded away two good prospects who may or may not pan out for an in-his-prime front of the rotation pitcher under team control for 3 more years. I don't see a problem here. We probably won't be good for those three years. I'd rather keep the two younger kids, but that's just my personal prefenrence. I don't think Jim should be fired over that trade or anything.

Eh I guess. I just wasn't a fan of the trade. I think we should be in full rebuilding mode.

    The really bad part about this is most of us saw this train wreck coming about a year and a half ago. Maybe Jim did too, but just tied his hands so badly with contracts he was helpless. Even then the Garza trade makes zero sense. In conclusion it sucks being a Cub fan right now.

    4 years of a punchin judy corner outfielder that cant even hit .270...just tired of him and many others Terrible argument. Please re-submit. I'd like to see him moved as I think he's one of our few peices that could net a decent return. I'd have zero problem if they could trade him. This guy inexplicably wants him released and think he's no good. Yeah, no that's crazy.
