  1. Yep, either one of those two teams would be ideal.
  2. I don't remember the earlier posts in this thread, but just in case this hasn't been covered yet, I would just like to say: Awesome. This guy needs to be in the majors yesterday. Any chance he'll get traded to the Cardinals? Let's not just give them another elite hitter, which for all his dbaggedness, he still could be.
  3. Good lord Jereme. Wish he could have a mulligan on the past year and a half.
  4. If we want Parker we had better win this year. He's made it clear that playing for a National Title is a priority.
  5. Didn't keep him around long enough. If we had kept him all year maybe we wouldn't have chose to pitch to Mike Lowell.
  6. The problem I've had with Kansas doing it is they get rid of the father as soon as the player is gone. In this case I would imagine the father is gonna stay on seems more legit to me then.
  7. I don't mind the kid doing it. Just mind the coaches going after those kids.
  8. His dad was also offered a job with a program and accepted it as well. Good timing. hahaha yeah but don't worry, college basketball recruiting is not a cesspool Hahaha good one. You're so very funny and witty. This is just like the Cam Newton recruitment, but without flat out paying the dad. At least basketball has this guy working for the school for the rights for his son to play there.
  9. I kind of agree.
  10. In football that's always been the case. It hasn't in basketball. Which is too bad, basketball doesn't need to become the recruiting cesspool that football is.
  11. Like last August, when they went 10-19. Or 2009, when they went 12-17 and fell out of the division lead. Or 2008, when they went 20-8 and took over the division for good. Or 2007, when they went 12-16 and still held onto the division. Every year with this August crap. Yes clearly those three years we were in a position to get a top 5 pick at that point in the year and then blew it. Thanks. You are the one who made it sound like the Cubs have been in the position to get a top 5 draft pick every year. Or that they somehow always make a run in August to make things look not quite as bad. Sorry it seems most years we have a chance to get a top 5 pick we ruin it with a good finish that costs us landing a higher pick.

  13. hmmm....interesting I was a vocal critic of Ricketts earlier in the season on this site. With what looks like a more dedicated approach to player development I'm beginning to change my opinion. We'll see if/when the 2011 draftees sign to know for certain but all indications are that the Cubs are spending a lot this year. He was dealt a crap hand, I just hope he hasn't let Hendry convince him it was all the Tribune's fault.
  14. I love how we ruin a top 5 draft pick every year with this August run crap. :yahoo:
  15. Cal just moving right in on a committed player. He's so good for college basketball.
  16. I get that, but last year we didn't get a Lars Andersen back for Ted Lilly. Lilly is a lot better than what's left of Rich Harden.
  17. Can someone explain to me how Rich Harden was going to net Lars Andersen, yet even if we ate all of Zambranos salary we weren't likely to get as good of a return? Rich Harden is awful, why do our players have such little respect?
  18. We haven't won a pennant in 60 plus years. Unreal you'd have this attitude on this board.
  19. I just love how we can hear a Cardinal fan on either this channel or MLB network get their jollys off on us being bad. It's awesome.
  20. I can handle how bad we are it happens. I can't stand Hendry acting like we are one player away. We are the 29th best team in baseball with a poor farm system.
  21. He's right. That's why Tampa bay will never be any good and all their prosepcts like Evan Longoria and David Price are doomed to fail.
  22. There is no way this can happen. You guys have too much talent, what the he'll is going on in St. Louis right now?
