Must be because of where I live, but most Cardinal fans had wrote this season off. Then this happens, now they are all huge fans again. Go anyone but the cardinals.

Their teams that aren't as good tend to achieve more. And they are on fire right now. The Phillies can't hit, Brewers can. Cards wont get past Milwaukee. They won a World Series with Jeff Suppan, Jeff Weaver, Anthony Reyes as their rotation. And yet, more often than not, the Cardinals do not win the WS. True but they beat out Philly they have no other huge obstacles left. Milwaukee can hit, but they're not nearly as good as Philly.

Ryan Howard at 25mil is pretty scary. I'm convinced that his contract is overlooked whenever talks come up of the worst ones around baseball because it's "only" for 5 years. I think it's also because they've won so no one will say anything bad about them.

I don't know, Prince is all right. And when you think about how they bled their once vaunted farm system dry in the pursuit of what ultimately will only be a wild card and one division title, it helps. And that Prince is leaving and this is their one shot to make anything substantive out of all that talent that came up in 2007-08, which will (hopefully) end at the hands of the Phillies, that helps too. Two or three years from now Miller Park will be half full of fans whose only reason for coming out is to see Ryan Braun hit and hot dog. Two or three years from now the Cardinals will still be tormenting us in some capacity. Basically, Milwaukee is going to go away, St. Louis isn't. They never do. Yep, he'll not even losing their ace slows them down, they still back into 90 wins.
