Again Groce was a lead recruiter at OSU. Lickliiter couldn't recruit anyone. Understand the difference here Iowa fans?

So my thoughts on our next coach Groce, and yes he's our next coach. Weber had to go, he drove our program down big time. We used to get the best mid major coaches, now they are afraid to take our job. That said Thomas is making a hell of a gamble here. If this guy fails he won't get to hire another coach. The good news is apparently he was the lead recruiter at OSU on Oden and Conley. Hopefully he does ok here, I'm willing to give him a chance.

Weber needed to go regardless of who MT hired. Weber lost the team, they quit on him. You can't get a team back once they've quit on you. This hire isn't ideal but it shouldn't make people jump off a bridge either. Give the guy a chance. I can't remember that far back but I'm guessing people weren't thrilled with the Bill Self hiring either. After his press conference most were. He killed it.

Top 5, IMO ... I'm honestly having trouble thinking of a more memorable moment if that had gone in. Jordans shot against Russell, ruths called shot, Buckner ball, fluties hail mary, that's all I got. Duh Laettners shot. Jordan's shot isn't even close. I'm also not sure how Laettner would be more memorably when it was an elite 8 game from 15 feet compared to the championship from halfcourt. um Jordan's shot isnt decidedly less famous than ruth, laettner, or flutie. Haters gonna hate.

Smith can't get Parker for us, from what I understand he promised he'd bring Parker with him. If he does that's an NCAA violation. Gee Robert, I wonder why you aren't a serious candidate. Wrong, he's not allowed to have any of his kids if he was a video coordinator or one of those fake jobs Kansas hired all their recruits parents for. If he's one of 3 assistants or a head coach he can do whatever he wants. That said the only person with less qualifications to be the head coach at Illinois is Eddie Johnson. He can't promise he will bring a kid though by name. That's the issue. As I understand it.

Agreed. Next season, I'm going to start an "Illinois/Indiana/Purdue Fan Dick Measuring Contest" thread then ask the mods to be ban me from it immediately. You forgot the Big 12 guys... To be fair, they're mostly just pushing the Illini fans' buttons to send them into endless frothy rants Yeah, no they aren't. Good try though.
