  1. Prior did/does have a beautiful delivery though. http://www.pitchingclips.com/clips/mark_prior10.gif
  2. It is, and it seems like a lot of people don't understand just how unnatural a proper overhand pitching delivery truly is. I believe a 3/4 sidearm angle throw is the natural throwing motion for the human body. If a caveman had to pick up a rock and chunk it at something, it certainly wouldn't be throwing like a pitcher.
  3. My feeling exactly. If we start crucifying and holding amphetamines against players, then we need to dig a lot deeper than just a few years back. At least we'll get a good white man back with the HR record. LOL, that's funny as hell.
  4. Rebs are 9-0, woot! Our game against Clemson tomorrow will be a good one, since they are also undefeated.
  5. Finally figured out how stat code works on this message board. Ruth leading the league in OPS+ 13 times is ridiculous. Amazing that Hornsby did it 12 times. I also added Bonds and A-Rod to the list. It's interesting how few times A-Rod has been in the top 6 in the league in offensive categories...obviously his career has a much longer way to go before it is finished, but still. 6. Only when Sosa's urine is swished around inside Roast's mouth and HE determines that Sammy juiced will I believe it.
  7. Am I the only person left who didn't know that he had diabetes? No doubt him and Ron are friends.
  8. Robert Fick is one of those guys that makes me think that even I could have played in the bigs at some point if he has. He's terrible. I don't know how he's still in the league.
  9. You don't even know what it means.

  11. That seems about right. Let's hope he remains healthier than Rocco has been.
  12. Just came across this Ed Houchuli quote:
  13. OMG, What a TERRRRRIBLE throw. That's just pitiful.
  14. HELL YES!!!!
  15. Go BEARS!!!
  16. Woody is losing his mind, as if it wasn't lost already. He totally doesn't seem to take his privilege very seriously. Don't forget he also said he is throwing a sympathy vote Concepcion's way.
  17. Man, if you only knew the half of it.
  18. Interesting about WARP3, I came across this today from BP. It's the all-time leaderboard for the stat. Barry Bonds 242 Babe Ruth 238 Hank Aaron 211 Willie Mays 207 Walter Johnson 203 Roger Clemens 202 Honus Wagner 201 Stan Musial 200 Ty Cobb 195 Cy Young 185 Eddie Collins 182 Cap Anson 180 Mel Ott 180 Rickey Henderson 179 Tris Speaker 177

  20. This is a legitimate opinion and should not be discarded simply because stats don't support it. After IMB!'s joke is adjusted for all time and park factors, it appears to fall flat of the league average.
  21. Make a case for him being in the HOF. I just don't see it. 129.4 career WARP3 Wow. That is really good. That's quite a bit better than just "really good." I should have put emphasis on the REALLY. Because yes, that is very, very good. Comparably, someone like Sosa is only at 110.
  22. Make a case for him being in the HOF. I just don't see it. 129.4 career WARP3 Wow. That is really good.
  23. Ding Ding! I also found this picture of the Big Train. Crazy orangutan arms he had. http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/9044/pitcher2ea8.jpg
