  1. You’re not honestly this naive are you? None of those things are why 5 stars go to Bama and Georgia. C’mon bro.
  2. It’s just a talent disparity. Same thing when people get skull drugged by Bama. In the last 5 recruiting cycles, Michigan’s average class ranking is 14th, whereas Georgia’s is 2nd.
  3. lol Michigan
  4. Guess it goes without saying but Bama’s OL against a G5 DL is a major mismatch.
  5. Haaaaaaa https://twitter.com/ftb_vids_yt/status/1476359863907209218?s=21
  6. I know I’m biased but Corral is equal or better than Pickett imo. Corral played half the season limping around on an ankle that was almost broken at the end of the Tennessee game and was out his 2nd and 3rd best WR and his TE for most all of the year, yet still took Ole Miss to 10-2. He is really, really freaking good and he IS playing in the Sugar. I meant the best players in one specific NY6 game. (Trust me, if I'd meant any NY6 game at all there's no way I'd have rated either of those 2 as better than Kyle Hamilton, who's skipping the Fiesta for ND.) Without having seen much of either I'd probably lean to thinking Corral is better too. Yeah I definitely misread that

  8. Define "big". ND, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU and USC all just hired a coach (too bad about ND, supposedly Urban's dream job). Texas, Tennessee and Auburn just hired a coach last year. Ohio State and Michigan won't open unless their coach leaves for the NFL which I see as unlikely. Penn State and Michigan State just extended their coaches. That is a big chunk of the programs that would be on Ohio State's level in terms of prestige (and some on a level below). Obviously Bama and Clemson aren't opening up unless Saban retires/Debo leaves. I guess options would be Nebraska (lol) and Florida State. I suppose Oregon is in flux. They promoted their DC to be their head coach, but that doesn't seem to be a permanent thing. I think Urban is pretty toxic at this point as a coaching hire. He's got more than enough money to just sit around the rest of his life and do nothing. I suspect he may end up doing TV spots for Fox or ESPN.
  9. Caveat, there is no such thing as a cool billionaire. He still seems cool
  10. Unfortunately I think this is just a one time thing due to Deion’s association with Barstool. I’m struggling to envision other NIL opportunities at HBCU’s that would get the top black athletes there. I think this kid going to JSU may be the biggest recruiting story of all time. It’s the birth of open and notorious free agency in college football. Going forward it’ll be interesting to see how much truth was in Kiffin’s rant. How many players are going to be pissed off when a good chunk of the NIL deals they were promised fall through? I suspect the transfer portal will be out of control next year.
  11. There are rumors flying that he's taking his bag to get a few other top guys, too, so this should be interesting. Yeah, this was always the thought with JSU hiring him. I don't know if the end game is Deion getting a Power 5 job or if it's the SWAC to become a power conference. I'm really hoping it's the latter because it will really shake horsefeathers up if black players in the South have a legit chance for exposure at HBCUs. I can’t see SWAC ever becoming a power conference. They just don’t have the money. In fact, it was a big deal this year when Jackson State players had their names on the backs of their jerseys because in the SWAC they have to reuse jerseys year to year. I believe Deion paid for that out of his own pocket.
  12. You’re thinking of Jacksonville State. Jackson State is in the SWAC. They don’t have a deal with ESPN. The only HBCU football game that is regularly televised is the Celebration Bowl.
  13. JSU games are rarely even televised. Wow. Seems to me like I saw them on TV a bunch last season. Maybe I'm dreaming that. I think you are. They've been featured on TV commercials because of Deion doing Geico with Saban now, but SWAC games are rarely televised.
  14. JSU games are rarely even televised. Wow.
  15. Not sure if y’all ever saw the clips of Lincoln Riley’s USC press conference but it looked like it was filmed by the local High School AV club in a basement warehouse. They had 12 band members and 3 cheerleaders. It was pathetic. This clip killed me.
  16. I really think he gets in next year when the Modern Baseball Committee meets again. Having a scandal free player with a 75 WAR NOT be in the Hall is absurd. Literally the ONLY scandal free position players with a 70+ WAR who aren't in the HOF (and are currently eligible) are Rolen (70.1), Grich (71), Lou (75.1), and Bill Dahlen (75.2)
  17. I mean, I don't think he's a HOfer but at least a somewhat honest case could be made for him unlike some people who are actually in the HOF. Here's a random observation: Bobby Abreu has absolutely zero HOF buzz yet he has more WAR than Vlad.
  18. Regarding A-Rod, he's done a really damn good job at attempting to rehab his image in recent years. I think he gets in this year, as he should.
  19. Ok, so the Vets Committee et al voted in: Bud Fowler - first AA player in organized baseball, so that's cool Buck O'Neill - of course he should be in Gil Hodges - not a HOFer imo. If he had played in Cleveland he wouldn't even be considered. I do think he might have been a HOF manager if he had lived though. Tony Oliva - I've never given much thought to him as a HOFer, but looking at his stats, I could see why the Vets would put him in. He only played 11 seasons over 120 games and led the league in hits 5 of those 11 seasons. His HOF monitor score is a pretty stout 114. Jim Kaat - Meh, seems like the definition of a compiler. He only had one season where he finished Top 5 in Cy Young voting. Minnie Minoso - an early color barrier pioneer who was a heck of a player and actually got a basehit in an MLB game at age 50. I'm fine with that selection as well. Now the fun part: https://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/hof_2022.shtml My ballot would be Clemens Bonds Sosa Manny A-Rod Rolen Helton Ortiz Sheffield Andruw
  20. Michigan can beat Georgia. Georgia’s best win all year is a home win against Arkansas. They aren’t the juggernaut the media has made them out to be. Have faith.
  21. I was really hoping we’d have the chance to play y’all in Fiesta. Notre Dame v Ole Miss would have been a fun and unique matchup.
  22. Mustache man has spoken. I’m hearing it’s 4 years/7.5 mil a year. 4 years is the longest contract a state employee can have in Mississippi for some reason.
  23. Omg imagine losing a chance at the playoffs by a freaking foot. Wow.
  24. That’s uh, an unfortunate angle there
  25. Definitely going to be a culture shock going from Touchdown Jesus to an entire stadium screaming “suck that tiger dick, b*tch” while a song plays. Random, but fwiw LSU does have my fav college football gif with T-Rex guy
