  1. Personally, I feel rather mistreated by the Cubs the last couple of seasons.
  2. I think MSU is a little over-rated because of last years record. Some people think that means they are not a top 50 team or something though. I wouldn't be surprised if ND beats us this weekend. We do have some tall receivers who can jump though:)
  3. I don't think I've ever seen a QB with a line like that before. Just insane. Daryl Lamonica from the late 60s Raiders?
  4. I dont hate him, but his act has played itself out. Too bad these things usually only start getting popular media attention after they get a little stale
  5. I predict that the ND/Michigan winner will be ranked entirely too high.
  6. I was at the Illini game today and the guy next to me said something similar. I replied that he is awful when he has to run east and west and almost stops to cut up field. This guy thought I was nuts. I predict that Ford is undrafted, but I don't really follow the NFL so I may be full of beans.
  7. New dots? Interview with OU's president took him hundreds of words to even mention the big 12, didn't mince words in essentially saying that OU is actively looking at other possibilities. Thanks - not enough time to play on the internet yesterday. I don't understand why you all can't just be happy with your little conferences. I'm going to be pissed if this all ends up with 4 megaconferences. I was thinking about that, and if it begins to happen I wonder if ND will feel pressure to join one of them or if it would kill a lot of their traditional matchups. Also, once there is 4 megaconferences, why would those 64 teams need the NCAA? I think ND would be taking a big gamble to not get into one of the megaconferences if that is the direction this is taking.
  8. I know I should probably look this up myself, but is there a correlation between good pitching teams having better records then their Pythag numbers show? It would seem that the lower the scores allowed/scored would create more randomness.
  9. A coach on a Little League team that we competed against this season had all of his players say "hey batter batter swing" before every pitch. I told him after the game that was kind of bush league for 11 and 12 yr olds. He replied that he agreed, but he was having issues with players paying attention so he had them go back to the Hey Batter Batter Swing thing to help them pay attention better. Maybe Quade should consider this.
  10. I really do not care that much about Bryce Harper's douchiness. I was watching some LLWS action this week and some team had many of its players playing with Bryce Harper eye black design. I immediately disliked them for playing without a douchiness streak. If you are going to copy please go all the way youngsters.
  11. look he was pretty wildly overrated, but he was a better player than juan pierre. he had way more power (than nothing, which is the amount of power juan pierre has) and played in an era when offense was much harder to come by. but if you're saying that just to troll, then that's fine. Hey I wasn't looking for facts to support my Card fan cage rattling!! If you lived in Central Illinois you would understand
  12. I like to mention to older Card fans that Brock was basically Juan Pierre. It usually gets them excited.
  13. makes you wonder why a team like Milwaukee who is in contention keeps him around....of course it reminds me of the Cubs keeping Lenny Harris around for so long in 2003
  14. baseclogging dude
  15. I like MSU's chances of being a better team this year then last. I however do not feel that they will go 11-1.
  16. I pretty much agree with this. Lets be honest, what did we expect to get with next to last place talent.
  17. I wonder if there is anyone in this country not named Pryor who feels bad for him
  18. my guess is for the Cards to trade Rasmus in the division it would have to be a great deal for them. Would you be willing to go Dempster/Marshall? I would like to get Rasmus , but realistically think the price would be too high for the Cubs. I still wish we were interested enough to inquire.
  19. I wish the Cubs would be interested in Rasmus
  20. I am all for trading any player that will make the Cubs better.
  21. I think most of the players on that list were good at bunting
  22. I had completely forgotten just how bad Guillen was. For some reason I thought he was a decent player. grit doesnt age well edit: I should post this in another thread, but Ozzie never got along with Big Frank because Frank didn't hustle. Amazingly a large portion of Sox fans sided with Ozzie on this and thought he was an important player of some of their good mid 90s teams
  23. how did Steve Balboni make this list and Rob Deer miss it?
  24. I think the most important thing the Hawks have done is make themselves more flexible to make moves during the season. They will probably need a top 4 dman to compete for the Cup but there were no great candidates available during FA. The few that were all got overpaid by quit a bit. It made no sense for the Hawks to get rid of Campbell's contract if they were to overpay for another dman who probably would not be as good. I think the Hawks will compete and be anywhere from 3-7 seed by trade deadline and then make a deal for a top 4 dman to help put them over the top.
  25. great post season pitching has made Brenly, Ozzie Guillen and now Bruce Botchy look a lot better as managers then they really are. The rest of this thread is just mind numbing
