  1. Fixed I don't understand the Urban Meyer criticism. I think the reasons he left Florida were valid. I also think it is very possible that he has a better plan for health and family going forward. I don't have a problem with the reasons he had for leaving Florida. I think the way he kept wavering was a little sketchy. Resigning, then coming back with a leave of absence then resigning again less than a year later left him with a label as a serial quitter. I used to think he needed attention, but after he spent the fall with Chris Spielman it became clear that his attention needs paled in comparison.

  3. As a MSU fan I really do not have an issue with not making a BCS game if we lose this Saturday, even if Michigan makes one. Of course I understand that the best teams do not always make the better bowl games, it has always been that way and probably always will.
  4. Why are you ignoring the fact that Michigan isn't any good? Michigan is going to get housed if they get to a BCS game. Outside of LSU/Alabama and OSU I think Michigan would compete with just about any other team in the country. Stanford, USC and Oregon would slaughter them, although obviously USC won't get the chance. I think Arkansas and Georgia would handle them. What is their most impressive win, against an overrated Nebraska team? I am just going to disagree. What are Oregon, USC and Stanford's most impressive wins? Take away that trio and the impressive wins are slim. Obviously LSU and Alabama are elite teams, take away them and the SEC is rather unimpressive. Georgia didn't play either one and Arkansas got "housed" by both of them. I am not saying Michigan beats any of these teams but I bet they would be competitive.

  6. Whoa....I wouldn't call the win against Wisconsin a fluke. Yes the last play was a fluke, but the game was tied. Its not like MSU would have lost if the play didn't happen. Wisconsin also had to rally late to just tie the game. It was a game with many ups and downs for both teams, but its not like Wisconsin was clearly better and MSU got lucky to win.
  7. Despite being 21-3 the last 2 regular seasons, the NSBB perception of them not being very good still sticks.
  8. Mariner I have read through your statements and I still just disagree, but each their own I guess.
  9. Wouldn't Georgia beating LSU kind of put a monkey wrench into the thought that LSU and Alabama are the best two teams though? I would think so, but who knows? So if LSU beats Georgia and Alabama finishes 2nd wouldn't Arkansas be a viable at large option or would the third team be allowed because they were an automatic qualifier?

  11. How about a head coach who is doing well at a lessor school?
  12. I thought a conference can only have 2 BCS teams...is there an exception that I don't know about or am I wrong.
  13. I don't understand what the difference between a team not making its conference championship game not making a BCS (Alabama, Michigan, Stanford) but a team not winning its conference can (Kansas St, OK/OKST loser). It makes no sense.
  14. I think Illinois would be in before Northwestern and maybe Purdue.
  15. I watched some yesterday and some of the 5a game today. I knew some kids playing in the 1A game(friends of mine from another towns nephew). I wish these games were on weekends that I wasn't kind of busy, I would like to attend them.
  16. I am happily taking Arkansas and the points. It may be pure speculation, but games like this at this point of the season always seem to be much closer than the talent would suggest. I think LSU is better but Arkansas will make it closer than 2 TDs
  17. It is amazing how the media can make up a story that does not exist.
  18. Is McFadden playing?
  19. best value-Josh Willingham worst value-Jose Reyes
  20. Hard to believe any coach would take that job prior to the NCAA ruling anything. There can't be any way in hell Meyer takes that job. Just cannot be. Why not? It's still a major program with relatively easy recruiting. You don't think Braxton Miller would blossom in a Meyer offense? If the NCAA sanctions aren't bad, it's a pretty good fit for Urban I would think that PSU would step up here and make a serious move in Urban's direction.
  21. Sounds like it'll be announced soon. I think that's a good fit for him. Agreed. I don't think he's necessarily a bad coach, just not a good fit at Michigan. Started out on the wrong foot and just kept going down from there. I actually thought Illinois would be a good place for him. I think he will do well in Arizona though, as long as someone else picks the defensive coordinator.
  22. Is the ESPN game play airing the game more people want to see? Because it's a no-brainer. Really, more people would rather see Crosby's first game against a bad team than a solid game between the defending SC Champion and a possible contender. I dislike more people
  23. So it took me like 30 secs for me to dislike Crosby again. Boston/Canadiens game was supposed to be on Versus last night but they switched to a lousy Pens/Islanders game because of Sids return. Versus/NBCsports has a chance to be the anti-ESPN, but it would appear that they are copying the ESPN game plan.
  24. Really, you'll probably pull a "Sparty No!" against Northwestern this coming weekend so the debate won't matter. That may be so, but we will still go on and beat Wisconsin or Penn St!!!
  25. We are going to beat Wisconsin or Penn St so this whole debate is moot.:)
