  1. not at all, I just said I didn't feel bad about the false start. I just like to point out when possible that questionable officiating is part of the game and usually goes both ways.
  2. I cussed when that shovel pass happened because I thought it was a false start. I don't feel that bad because of the blatant grounding call that was not called on one of Wisconsins late TD drives and the linebacker tackling that was going on during Ball's big runs on the other.
  3. My favorite part was close to the end when Craig James? said "if Arizona goes 5-1 in their last 6 games they are in a bowl game"
  4. I will put a nickle on that...MSU +24 I will make it a virtual dime if we move it to Wisc -17. Gotta temper my homerism a little bit. I am undefeated in nickle bets on NSBB, so I am reluctant to go a dime...but okay your on
  5. I will put a nickle on that...MSU +24
  6. I always appreciate a player/former player who actually says something outside of standard baseball cliches. But than again I almost always realize that most of what they say away from standard baseball cliches is rather dumb and begin to understand why most of them stick to the cliches.
  7. This whole thing kind of reminds me of how the Cubs basically threw Sammy under the bus in 04. I am not saying that Sammy was innocent or didn't deserve share for the bad ending, but I think he was clearly scapegoated by the organization.
  8. I really like the job that Dantonio has done with the MSU program. If there was one thing that I find disappointing with him is that he still has issues with discipline. That being said, compared to the John L Smith years, this group is like a church choir.
  9. If I was a top Cub prospect, I would be having all kinds of fun with this situation.
  10. Al Davis is why I am a Raider fan...he is probably also why I have not cared one bit about NFL football for about 10 yrs
  11. ND would rather play a mix of schools than be limited to any one conference. Why is that offensive to you? Wanting the whole conference to stop playing ND bc it won't join does sound petty. How many times is MSU on national tv anyway? There's the ND game...and... Yeah, your school isn't itching to drop that game anytime soon. It is petty, but so be it. I am sure MSU can pick up a home/home with a variety of different schools that are of equal or better quality as ND. Maybe they will not have the national exposure that ND has, but the reality is if MSU really wants to have serious national exposure they need to become a consistent national contender. Playing ND every year is not doing anything to accomplish that goal.
  12. I think all B1G schools should just quit playing ND and be done with it. It may sound petty, but if ND would rather play in the Big East/ACC, well have at it. Also, besides the top 5 or 6 teams who really is good by most people standards? It just so happens that the SEC has 2 of those teams. There overall depth is not that much better than the Big 12 or B1G or even the ACC
  13. I only watched the 2nd period so I may have missed something, but are the Hawks playing with just one PP unit? I seen them on the PP a couple of times and both times they kept Kieth, Sharp, Toews, Kane and Hossa on the ice the entire PP. Though they had plenty of offensive zone time they were not in the zone the entire time so a change was easily possible. Just wondering
  14. The depression of being eliminated in the most obnoxious Conquer Club game ever made him quit coming in here.
  15. It's nice for rankings when all but 3 quarters of your season has been played against [expletive] teams. Yeah, it's too bad we don't get to play ND every game. Why would you want to play the only team who wasn't [expletive] terrible on your schedule every game? It's too bad Purdue is on Michigan's schedule, otherwise there'd be that off-chance they pull a RichRod and lose the last 7. Joke. ND should have murdered Michigan, but somehow we've won the past 3 years. Michigan still isn't great, but there is obvious improvement. The defense can at least slow down offenses this year. Their defense gets a turnover every now and then also. Didn't UMass score almost 40 last year? Michigan is better, I don't know what their schedule is the rest of the way, except they play at MSU in a couple of weeks, but the only B1G team that is clearly better than Michigan is Wisconsin.
  16. you also think that a "a better solution in this case would be to teach Ben Smith to make a play with his head up" which is clearly stupid. I will say that almost all hockey coaches at all levels teach players to keep their heads up. One of the main reasons is for their own safety. So not sure how clearly stupid that comment is, but whatever. I think the NHL needs to clean up head shots, and Shanny is doing it. I just hope he stays consistent with it, even when it comes to a star player in the playoffs. I just think in this case a 2 game suspension would have worked fine.
  17. I am just glad MSU won today. I was at my boys football game so I haven't seen it, but looking at the total yds it appears that this game was much closer than it should have been. When I was watching the games earlier today I noticed that there were a lot of empty seats in the Illinois game. What more do Illinois fans want? 4-0, B1G opener against an in-state rival and they don't fill up a 70,000 seat stadium.
  18. I understand, but I think a 2 game suspension for a 1st time offender in a play that was clearly not intentional would teach well. I think a better solution in this case would be to teach Ben Smith to make a play with his head up. it was an intentional cheap shot His own team threw the guy under the bus. Might be time for you to acknowledge it. his GM called it reckless not intentional and I have said that he needs to be suspended. You are clearly being the homer here that you seem to be implying that I am. Also, just a random look around some other teams boards you will find that most fans of other teams think the suspension is out of line and the play was not dirty.
  19. what I find amazing is that guys like Hawk and Stoney do not even realize that Moneyball is a business book about baseball, not a book about the "only" way to win at baseball. Of course a simple reading of said book or watching the movie with any kind of open mind someone would easily come to that conclusion.
  20. I understand, but I think a 2 game suspension for a 1st time offender in a play that was clearly not intentional would teach well. I think a better solution in this case would be to teach Ben Smith to make a play with his head up.
  21. Does this go to the AHL than? I am quite sure that Smith is going to the Griffins. The suspension seems high for what was obviously an accident. I understand the need to teach to not do it, but this kind of suspension seems more warranted for obvious dirty play.
  22. I know...when I reread my post I thought I had become as bad as Hardcore:)
  23. I used to know a guy who was convinced that Payton was gay and actually died of AIDS, all because he basically talked like a "sissy." I basically always called him a moron, basically because his statement was "moronic." When I read the title of this thread my first thought was, oh crap that idiot can't be right.
  24. I think I like the idea of having the WC teams have to burn their top pitcher, giving the division winner they would have to play an advantage. I am also glad it is just one game, I would be against a 3 game series while the other 3 teams sat around waiting.
