I have felt that MIchigan St. is overrated this season. I think there is some compensation for underrating them the last couple of years.

Castro? I think I had him in the recently group. But, for the first 40 or so yrs of my life it was Dunston and Grace. My guess is no other team ever was close to being this bad at drafting, developing and retaining players.

Grace was even an outlier. I am 52 yrs old and until recently the only Cub position players that they developed and played 3 yrs with the Cubs in my lifetime were Dunston, Grace, Soto, and Theriot. Patterson being on the fringe.

I am not a White Sox hater, except their radio and tv guys make me that way. Playing just well enough to not be sellers at the deadline, and then immediately collapsing back on their faces has been somewhat fun.

I think it's organizational philosophy, but even when it was obvious several yrs ago that Tatar, Nyquist and others were better options, Babcock rode the likes of Cleary and Bertuzzi until injuries forced his hand. I do think Tatar has improved, also Ericsson and DeKeyser. But not sure Nyquist, Smith, Sheahan are moving forward. Jurco is going backwards. The thought is the young players will thrive under Blashill, because they did in Grand Rapids. But there is no evidence to show that they will.

I agree with your assessment of the Leafs. They are building a foundation for consistent success. I know a lot of Wings fans are happy Babcock is gone because he reluctantly played young players, and those players did not seem to improve once they reached the NHL. Is there any sense of this with Leaf fans, or is this a concern?

You couldn't be more wrong on the return for Sharp. I don't think the Hawks will get much. Personally, I wouldn't want him at all for the 5.9 mill cap hit. The fact that a deal has not been done yet leads me to believe that the offers the Hawks have received have been far lower than a first round pick or a quality prospect. Maybe after the 1st couple of days of FA a team will panic and offer a decent prospect. well, Detroit wouldn't want him because they're more than one player away. For a team that's ready, he offers a lot of value. Detroit is probably just a really good power forward away from being a contender....unfortunately those are not easy to acquire. More to your point, if a team is just one player away, is Sharp still that player? I am sure a lot of teams would like to have him, including the Hawks. I just don't think many teams want to pay him 5.9, plus picks/prospects. If he was worth that the Hawks would be trying to figure out how to keep him.

I think most of the fans that think this series will be easy for the Hawks are holding on to the outdated belief that the Western Conference is superior. I don't think that was the case this season. -

I think Tampa has better depth, especially scoring and defense. I think the goalies are about even to a slight lean towards Tampa. Hawks top tier talent is waaay better. This will be an interesting series, but I think the Hawks will win in 6. Wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks get blown out once in the first couple of games in Tampa. It should be a lot of fun to watch. -

I know the bar is low, but Millar's show is probably my favorite thing on MLB Network. Epstein was great yesterday on the show.

Probably not. They are in a great position for next year. On another note, couldn't be happier Boston missed the playoffs. They have quickly become my least favorite team after the Wings joined their division.

I like his moxie. UK tries to punk everyone they play (and usually succeeds.) he's giving it right back, and it's bothered the UK guys some. That's fine but he got ejected for a flagrant 2 in their last game as well. and part of the brawl with Xavier a couple of yrs ago
