  1. Minnesota is 8-3....when did that happen?
  2. This is why you shouldn't fire a coach mid season.
  3. I don't think Penn State will be in the discussion at all. But this is shaping up to be a chaotic playoff selection which is great if you want to see them expand to eight teams. Hearing them say how much they weigh winning conference championship games, but then picking a non-champ over the champ (who beat the non-champ) creates enough controversy to grease the skids for an eight game playoff (eventually) I think Penn St is a long shot also, unless Clemson and Washington lose again. If that happens it will be a free for all.
  4. A 1 loss OSU should make the play off. The debate shouldn't be Penn St or OSU...it should be Penn St or Washington/Oklahoma or even a 2 loss Michigan. That of course is if Penn St wins out.
  5. Kris Bryant's fiancee is not going to be a hot baseball wife
  6. I still think the top 3 plays out easy. If Clemson wins out they are in, if not then Louisville is in. The Michigan/OSU winner is in. Alabama has just about clinched. The 4th spot is going to be a free for all and I like the chances of a 2 loss team making it
  7. It's going to be a mess this year
  8. Wasn't there a high school kids who plagiarized a paper and kind of showed off about it? Yeti's drunken rant about the cost of hookers
  9. If memory serves me right, Montreal was the first 20 game champion last season. They then used Prices injury to excuse being so bad the rest of the season. If they were really a contender Price being out would not have knocked them out of the playoffs.
  10. Time to get right with God My best day ever
  11. By my count, 4, and all are either ND or teams on their schedule. The fact this might well be the single most marshmallow-soft schedule the Irish have ever played (USC might literally be the best team they play this year and they're going to go, what, 7-5?) makes the fact that they probably won't make a bowl even more infuriating. Might be 4. MSU, ND, Miami and Texas
  12. Going to game on Sat in Champaign. I am about as apathetic as I have ever been to go to a MSU game.
  13. The real miracle for Sparty today is they somehow held Michigan to a fg twice.
  14. From 20-all the teams recieving votes, I really can't say Penn St is worse than any of them. But the only one I feel confident saying they ate better than is SMU. 5-2, beat a top 5 team. Ranking seems justified
  15. It is just a sample size anomaly. But it is a 6 game trend that is a concern.
  16. Sparty sucks and are going to be trounced by big brother. And today I don't care.
  17. I cried for awhile last night. The Cubs were the first thing I loved outside of my family. The years of heartache watching a thing I love being totally mismanaged. It's like watching a family member completely mess up their lives because of alcohol or drugs. They have their moments of hope- but ultimately they didn't do the things it takes to keep their lives in order. The Cubs finally went through the process of really putting the foundation in to sustained success. It's been an exciting couple of yrs. You could see it coming and the anticipation was amazing. Last night and this morning are almost surreal. I am 52, I say that not to minimize anyone else's years of struggle, but just to say that my tears had years of build up. I hope they win the WS, but if they don't I know they have their life in order where it is just a matter of time. And I will cry again
  18. Yeah, beating Notre Dame just hid MSU,so problems for a week. I knew Sparty was going to have a down season, but I am wondering if they will get bowl eligible
  19. Rutgers does suck....but I also think OSU and Michigan are quite good
  20. I think the Yakupov trade could be interesting. Edmonton is not a great environment. I could see him improving on a team that has more accountability. Certainly a decent gamble for the Blues. Also think it was interesting that 2 days ago it sounded like a done deal to the Hawks...but then the Blues swoop in. Think the Blues were concerned about the Hawks acquiring a player with his talent level and made a bigger offer.
  21. I know you shouldn't give up a hail mary.....but players need to have more sense than getting 15 yard celebration penalties that almost always lead to the opposing team starting at mid field
  22. Matt Millen....nuff said.
  23. That's ridiculous! I don't get tackle football at that age, though. Yeah, my bro in law had his son in football at like 7. Absurd. I coach 7th and 8th graders. I am 50/50 on tackling at this age. Usually the team with the fastest players win because the field is too big for them. But what really burns me up is that most teams will have 1 kid carry the ball 25 times a game, then have him play defense and be in most of the tackles. All so they can win a stupid youth football game. No concern about his long term health or the long term development of his teammates. Yeah, we win because Johnny kicks butt!! But what really really burns me is that I am different and get most of my kids involved. And of course that is not conductive to winning at this age. But almost all of my kids keep coming out. I have parents who get mad at me because we don't win enough. It's Youth Football!! Quit worrying about the winning and worry about the progress
  24. MSU is textbook blowing this. Too conservative, too soon on both offense and defense.
  25. I don't understand taking the foot off the gas on defense. I also don't understand why Dantonio didn't challenge the spot on that 4th and 2 play
