We would probably have to clear some payroll to afford him at a few million. I have this hope that they have left some room for a mid season trade....which a good back up catcher is probably going to be high on the list

Pretty sure MLB is still exempt from that. But they’d get some big fines as per CBA I am pretty sure the collusion language is in the CBA because of Drysdale and Koufax both holding out the same year. So the owners wanted it included and the players said yes as long as it went both ways

And is no contest the best closer in MLB history. There are discussions about who the best player was at each MLB position throughout history. Not so for closer. Closer is not a position. Its like lead-off man or clean up hitter. Ricky Henderson was the best Lead off man ever without question. So I am not sure your argument is valid.

I'm beyond sick of seeing them in the Super Bowl, but it was there for the Chiefs. Great comeback, favorable 3rd downs to get Mahomes back on the field. They just blew it in overtime. I think they just lost a coin flip...I feel that they would have scored a TD if they got the ball first

I absolutely can compare those calls. You’re comparing a missed strike two in an AB where a dude grounded out and a missed play at the plate in the bottom of the 9th. not a great comparison...but yes I would. Every play in any game matters to the outcome of the game. A blown call in the 2nd quarter can change the outcome just as much as a blown call in the last 2 minutes. BTW, I also did not blame Parkey for the Bears losing. Teams do not win or lose on 1 play

Years are running together on me, but I think this is it.I would’ve guess one of the Wisconsin Final 4 teams or a Michigan/MSU team did it after (this would’ve been 2011?) but maybe this is right. I am not saying I follow this religiously, but I think Michigan and Wisconsin tend to be stronger come tournament time and dont really have big mid season appeal. After I thought about it, it seems that MSU may have been ranked number 1 in 2018

You don't think Duke, the Tide's marquee non conference foe next year, can take them down? I hope this yrs championship game results do bring the perception of Alabama down some. Anyone who suggested Alabama shouldnt have made the final 4 if they lost to Georgia was considered nuts. Yet their schedule was garbage....and will be even more so nect season

I don't put a lot of stock in lower level bowl games because who knows who is actually trying and who just used the bowl for extra practice for freshmen. But Minnesota was very impressive yesterday...they really finished strong. I think they could contend for the B1G west next season

It would be extremely difficult for a 1 loss ND team to even make a 8 team playoff. So it doesnt bother me that they dont play in a conference. I am pretty sure all B1G schools play 10 P5 games a yr. 9 conference and 1 non con. Prett sure its a rule

Sit out a year or 2 and replace Saban Like him or hate him, he is very successful. I also think he helped elevate the entire B1G conference by calling the rest of the teams out early in his tenure.

the New Years 6 Bowls are a letdown. Conference alignments need to go. OSU/Michigan v Georgia would be interesting. Texas shouldnt be in. West Virginia v Central Florida would be interesting. OSU/Michigan v LSU would be interesing. Non of the existing games are that much fun. How many times has Michigan played Florida recently? The Illinois fans at work are saying that this will be the 4th time they have played Florida since they last played Illinois.

They should be punished for playing 8 conference games. Horsefeathers of a non con schedule. If they are that good, prove it with non con road games.

What was the SEC signature non cinference win this year? Miami? Georgia Tech? What was Clemson’s? Texas A&M? Not really the point. If people really want Georgia in, what do they have to base that on besides the eye test. I would have been against Alabama getting in if Georgia had won.

I keep asking why certain teams are ranked so high....than I see who is right behind them and see why. CFB seems more top heavy than normal this year
