    USC beats Notre Dame (Holtz's pick for the national championship game :rotfl: ) by 40. Most over-rated team in the country with a lousy coach who doesn't get the concept of clock management. Hopefully this game doesn't help Michigan get in a BCS game.

    Thanks. But I'm not copping out of anything. I still stand by my opinion. I'm just saying that nobody on this forum can give anything other than an opinion, given the circumstances. There will never be any proof because we will never be able to take a player from 1900 and send him to the plate in the modern era. Really?????? You can't do that?

    never know these days.... Stop, just admit it went over your head. That's because it wasn't a joke. You're right OMC and actually it should be Cubs 2 and the Cards 0 in World Series titles. The 1926 championship shouldn't count either because it ended with Babe Ruth (of all people) trying to steal a base. He was out by a mile and Hornsby was later seen paying for the Babe's hookers with a wod of $50 bills. Obviously the series was fixed. And of course, in 1982, the Cards won the series solely because the baseball talent on other teams in the league had been severely diluted by not having their players from Argentina, who in a show of patiotism, choose to stay home and fight Britain in the Falklands War instead of playing ball.

    dude, that post is ALL kinds of messed up. How did the Depression dilute talent? Vietnam? Iraq?? I must have missed the articles about the top prospects serving in the battle of Fallujah. The only time talent was diluted because of an external circumstance was WWII. It was a joke.

    Take away the World Series the Cardinals won when the talent level was severely diluted by the Depression (30, 31 and 34) and various wars - WWII (42 and 44), Vietnam (64 and 67) and the Iraq War (2006) and the Cardinals only have two legitimate World Series titles. Same as the Cubs.

    Disagree. This is a great scoring system. It doesn't take any skill to go chalk by picking all the favorites. It takes guts to pick 5s over 12s like Western Kentucky, Arizona and Wisconsin and props to those that picked Cleveland State. You didn't pick any upsets and you were penalized for it. It's a simple as that. i don't care that i'm doing bad. i'd be doing bad with either scoring system, its irrelevant to my point. the simplest and best scoring system is to reward people who pick the most correct games. this scoring system doesn't do that. i don't care about who has "guts" or some other nonsense, it should be who picks the winners correctly regardless if its an upset or not. Those pools tend to be boring with the majority of the participants picking the lower seeds. Most brackets look relatively the same. It's a lot harder to pick upsets and those that do should be rewarded.

    Hahahha, they absolutely were not the better team. If you want me to, I'll pull out every metric ever invented that shows Illinois was the better basketball team. Western Kentucky played the better game, yeah, of course genius, that's what the final score proves. Illinois was absolutely the better basketball team. And people wonder why Michigan is hated universally, and their fans are treated as loudmouth [expletive] buffoons. :-))
