    I'm sure they probably feel an obligation to speak to anyone within the organization who expresses interest. But assuming the goal is to bring someone in who can light a fire under these guys, I question whether they'd seriously consider a candidate who was in a position to do that last season as a coach but didn't. Yeah, put me in the they’re going to hire a new voice in the clubhouse category.

    It’s probably a good idea to start a true freshman if you’re Tennessee. The season looks lost already and you might as well get this kid ready. Throwing him out there against Georgia is just a god awful decision. Just bury the guy’s confidence right off the bat I guess.

    The Saints defense is absolutely carrying them right now.

    Arkansas vs aTm is one of the oddest series in CFB. Year after year Arkansas is awful yet seems to always be beating the Aggies for 3 plus quarters, then eventually coughs the game away.

    I want Schwarber traded to Boston and him become fat white Ortiz in the worst way.

    I know some of you hate the Brewers more but horsefeathers the Cardinals and BFIB, and no way that horsefeathering town gets two titles in a year.

    Drew Brees? He didn't break out until year 4, but he only played 1 game year 1 and 11 year 3, so "game wise" he was in the 3 year window. Took until NO to really ascend and get more consistent, but he was top 3 in Passer rating that year (single, flawed stat, all that it is, but still) Meeting Sean Payton was the best thing to happen to Drew Brees.

    I really wish the whole wave of doing pregame shows in the middle of screaming faux fans would die, quickly. Looks like one dude is getting paid to hold a Bud Light in the air and scream over the ESPN broadcast. #nowgetoffmylawn

    True, but it’s a bit different when the team has largely underachieved since the WS, and mostly due to the offense going completely dead for long stretches. There’s some alarming patterns that can’t be just brushed away with “we’ll get em next year.” That’s not mentioning some horrible FA signings that have quite literally hamstrung the team from upgrading the roster.

    Indeed. I'm stunned. Eli Apple is shaky at CB, but this might be the best defense of the Payton era. The 2009 SB team had a nice D but relied on getting turnovers. This D is a force.

    Saints defense has been incredible. Teddy’s been fine at QB. The Saints might be ok until Drew returns. Also, Kamara is a national treasure.

    They’ll be able to take out their frustrations against Arkansas next week, the worst team in the league since Bobby Petrino wrecked his motorcycle. The Hogs are awful in every facet of the game.

    SEC observations: LSU and Georgia are great and might actually be better than Bama this year. The bottom of the SEC is godawful. Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee are Sun Belt Conference bad. Starting to wonder if Jimbo is the right fit at aTm. Hate it for the kid, but Franks going down for Florida might be a blessing in disguise.

    I can relate. I’m cautiously optimistic about the Pelicans this season, so that’s bound to be a huge disappointment.

    Thank you. Agreed. The last decade + for every other team in that division has been among the worst in their respective histories.
