  1. I’d be pretty excited if I could watch the game on YouTube TV. My neighborhood bar has all the games but they’re all closed here again.
  2. Rumors are that Snyder and Chico both want military theme to the name. Redtails seems like such a no brainer if that's the desire, but not surprising at all they they'd go a much more traditional and generic theme like that if so. So if DC finally gets statehood and has to rename, would the team be renamed again? Not that it's that big a deal as the Angels changed from California to Anaheim to LA all in the span of like 15 years.
  3. I watched part of the Indians/Pirates yesterday and they mentioned that it’s optional when you’re on the field.
  4. I like Boog, but he’s getting no help with the color guys. Chipper sounds like he just set down the bong before first pitch. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
  5. Speculation I've seen is that he and other memebers of the organization are on Epstein's list of clients.
  6. I am. The crowd noise is very pointless, it's basically constant white noise that turns up a little when something happens. Hendricks is looking very sharp, Darvish command is off. It sounds more like a waterfall that you might hear in a waiting room. Just weird. As mentioned, just amplify the in game sounds then maybe have the organist play throughout the game. Or live mike Javy.
  7. I fully expect somebody like the Pirates or Blue Jays are going to come out of nowhere and make the playoffs in the short season.
  8. This is the big impact. Your Central Michigans, Appalachian States and Troys of the world count on those games for like 1/3 of their total athletic budgets. They’re toast if other conferences follow suit. It’s totally taking advantage of the situation to save a buck anyway. You can’t tell me Southern Miss traveling to Auburn is less safe than Rutgers at Nebraska or Missouri at Florida. Travel is travel. But yeah, Andy, I’m starting to believe there will not be a season.
  9. The NBA may be the only league to pull this off with the teams in a bubble in Orlando. Granted, they only have to finish the end of the 2020 season with smaller rosters than other sports.
  10. Looking at some designs for rebranding, I'm kind of digging the Washington Redtails. It honors the Tuskeegee Airmen of WWII and sounds much the same. They can even keep the R throwback helmet they've been wearing.
  11. To what? Stateless R*edsk!insAnother reminder to myself to not read comments on Twitter. The outrage like "WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS COUNTRY" is all over the place.
  12. Rumors now floating that the Redskins name change is about to be official.
  13. What’s as odd is that they only won 2 titles and reached only a handful of playoff appearances for 118 years of that stretch.
  14. Not tryin to doom boner here, but at this point I’d be pretty surprised if half the major sports are playing this Summer/Fall, short of a vaccine or a really effective treatment. It seems like we are getting reports weekly of outbreaks in teams or organizations and they haven’t even gotten off the ground yet.
  15. Yes on DH No on permanent 16 team playoff Just relocate Tampa, Miami and Arizona
  16. having 762 total home runs while only hitting 50 once is unfathomable. maintaining just like 5 years of sustained excellence in this sport is extremely tough. to average 35 homers over a 22 year stretch doesn't seem possible. Which makes Hank Aaron even more impressive. He averaged 37 HR/year over 22 seasons* and only hit at least 40 in 8 seasons. And much of this during a dead ball era, let alone not the steroid era. Edit: *average based on 162 games, but still.
  17. Of course he works out to Twisted Sister.
  18. "Can I order the Mushroom Bleu Burger, but instead of a bun can you put it on mixed greens, and instead of bleu cheese can you put swiss on that, and drizzle some balsamic vinegar on top?"
  19. Yo, a month ago he gave literally 10 x that amount to the Louisiana Covid-19 fund.
  20. They tested Tuesday then had group workouts Wednesday before they found out the results of the test. What kind of stupid ass protocol was that? CFB fans joked about the possibility of some team intentionally infecting themselves so they'd be immune during football season. I'm not saying that happened here, but it's interesting. If there is a coach that would do something like that, it would be Saban.
  21. Tell me again how sports are supposed to work this Fall?
  22. The Pels could be a very dangerous team when this gets restarted. They seriously could give the Lakers a series in the first round.
  23. Drew's problem isn't that he's a closet racist, or is anti BLM. He just doesn't get it, and until now hasn't had the curiosity to want to learn. He falsely made it a "suporting our troops" issue, because in his priveleged life he has always had the luxury to never need to question his country. It doesn't make him evil or racist. It makes him willfully naive. He has done amazing things for this community, both with money and with active participation in causes. Even the fact that he chose to move into this poor and predominanty black city when we were completely broken rather than into some gated community in the burbs speaks a lot to who he is. Unfortunately, what he said also reflects on who he is. I believe that he is capable of being much bigger than that, and hopefully he can learn what he and many others have needed to realize for a long time. His track record suggest to me anyway that he will. We'll see what happens next.
  24. Obviously, not a Bears fan but this was too god to not post.
