  1. We have a ton of games left with the Cardinals...
  2. Also, I was at both games of the back-to-back one hitters from Jon Lieber and Kerry Wood. Neon Deion was in CF for the Reds and the dude beside me in the bleachers kept yelling, "Papa! Talk to me papa!" It was sorta fun to watch Deion pray with arms up to God when he took the field and also flip us off in the same afternoon.
  3. How are Alcantara's contact numbers looking (and where the hell can I find them myself?) 74.7% going into tonight. Fangraphs has them. Someone should write an article expressing optimism about his contact rate.
  4. NOBODY fucks with The Baez. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=lebowski+turturro&view=detail&id=A1D0ED8FBEE0B5304D51474093FE82FF87DBF4D3&first=17
  5. I drove up from Louisiana during my freshman year to catch Lance Dickson's MLB debut. I was so young and innocent back then.
  6. Okay, I've seen an iteration of this posted multiple times, but I don't understand the reference. Can someone explain what this is from? And what exactly is going on? EXACTLY.
  7. It is going to take a long time before that state is anything but Cardinals territory. The Travs in Little Rock were the AA affiliate forever and every cap you see is a Cards cap. It is where my hatred of them was forged.
  8. That, and that Honda commercial make me want to go punch a hipster. Like more than usual.
  9. No more bad TV Dodger moments please.
  10. The greatest thing about that play by Alcantara is how he made it look so easy. Just effortless. On then we have Coughlan in LF.
  11. Agreed, although whatshisname from Louisville was awful. On a side note, it looks like whatshisname from Louisville has made the Pelicans as an undrafted FA.
  12. I really hate what MLBN and NFLN have become. They both started out as good, informative channels with more than just the highlights of popular teams/players, but they've both become ESPN lite. MLBN has an exponentially higher number of meatball "analysts" than NFLN, though No they don't. On a related note, Fox Sports 1 has a pretty good group from what I've seen. I really like Kapler and Nitkowski seems pretty good. Seconded.
  13. These guys want a word with you. http://www.sportsherniablog.com/.a/6a00d83451b84f69e2014e8ab5bd66970d-pi
  14. Oh, now you'e done it.
  15. As you wish This is begging for a photoshop.
  16. Preseason polls are silly, but based on who I know... Ranked too high off this: Bama, aTm, Texas Too low: Ole Miss, AZ State
  17. Sure, because this board needs LESS personality. Sarcasm.
  18. Soler just argued balls and strikes and got a quick hook. Brett Jackson got the same thing last night on a called strike 2 when he was squared to bunt. This umpire crew isn't playing apparently. Side note: seen HRs by the AAA big three through 15 innings. Sweet.
  19. Love Russell. C - Schwarber (yeah, right) 1B - Rizzo 2B - Castro SS - Russell 3B - Baez LF - Bryant CF - Almora RF - Soler Alcantara as super sub extraordinaire. Plenty of room for everybody. I keep seeing FO quotes that the likely spot for Baez is 2B is he is moved off of SS. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but it's not out of the question Castro gets moved.
  20. I would be surprised if they made it to 7 wins, but o/u of 7.5 wins is a gift? They surely will be decided underdogs vs Bama, LSU, USC and FSU. Vandy is the only other you listed where you an say right now they'd even be favored. Even the brutal schedule notwithstanding, I just don't understand what they have shown you that gives you optimism. If you give UF Tenn and Vandy (which I think is reasonable), that should put them solidly at 6 wins. They may very well finish up 6-6, but I think with their defense pitted against other teams who lean more on offense than defense, I kind of think they'll pull off an upset against one of LSU, UGA, or Mizz. Even SC over UF in the Swamp isn't a gimmie, IMO. No way I'm giving them Tenn. In fact, after they go 1-1 in conference with KY and Bama, the Vol game could be the one that tells the tale for Fla. They lose that one in Knoxville and things could get ugly for that staff in Gainesville.
  21. Not sure what's up, but last night was gorgeous here. Not hot at all and it's not bad today either.
  22. Actually, I went straight to bed after the game but Rhee definitely got stronger as the game wore on. His splitter was his K pitch and after about the 2nd inning he had batters flailing at it. FB is still nothing special , 85-89, but he did touch 90 and 92 on the gun later. Overall his line: 6 IP, 0 R, 5 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 89 pitches. Marcus Mateo came in for 2 IP and was filthy. 1 H, 5 K, 0 BB. Several third strikes were looking. Just nasty stuff for one night anyway. Rosscup couldn't find the plate at all.
