  1. Yeah, in Hawaii. Not a bad road trip for a team to take, especially with the weather like it is right now in Illinois. EDIT: My biggest concern is that Illinois doesn't have anyone that can score, consistently.
  2. You mean that 8 point beatdown of Northeastern at home didn't inspire confidence?
  3. Stupid Iowa.
  4. Crazy as it sounds, I'd say Illinois has just as good a resume as Florida. Not that they're as good of a team, but the resume is strikingly similar.
  5. I have a hard time believing any Big Ten game is a mismatch that doesn't involve Minnesota. Illini back in the polls at #20, should actually make the BCS standings. Actually, 5 Big Ten teams could make the top 25 BCS standings, depending on Harris and computer ratings of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Penn State. Of course, they could be 21-25.
  6. Yep, that was a 16 play, 48 yard drive.
  7. This is possibly the most ridiculous drive I've ever seen.
  8. Make that 10 for 40.
  9. An all-rushing drive, 9 plays for 30 yards. :P
  10. I'm going to wager a guess that the Illini have never been more popular on this board as they are right now. I'm sure they'll find some way to get back into everyone's bad graces soon enough.
  11. Don't want to speak too soon, but if the Illini magically hold on today, that Iowa game really hurts.
  12. I really don't blame OSU for their strategy here. You make Juice throw to beat you.
  13. could be, but how locked in are the non-BCS bowls to their conference/place of finish tie-ins? Oh, not at all, after the BCS bowls. "Big Ten #3" basically means "the 3rd-most interesting Big Ten team".
  14. I think it'd be more interesting to see an Illinois/Florida game than a PSU/Florida game, if only for the Zook angle. Not that the outcome would be different.
  15. So you're saying they are going to build a baseball field on top of the tower....pure genius! http://www.designverb.com/wp-content/images/2006/09/highesttennis07.jpg Hey, it worked for the Burj Al Arab in Dubai with a tennis court. Wow, now that is one court where I think I just let every lob go.
  16. So, anyone have the NFC North as one of the tougher divisions in football this year? If the Bears didn't lay eggs every other Sunday, there'd be 3 good teams in that division with no pushover as the 4th. NFC East and AFC South are likely better, but the NFC North has been surprisingly good.
  17. Well, most teams actually have a passing game that's worth paying attention to.
  18. If we're making up trade scenarios (like RealGM seems to be), toss Wallace, Duhon, Gordon and Noah to whatever teams want them, and call it a trade.
  19. Like Sulley said, either Hinrich or Wallace has to be included in the deal for the money to work out without the Bulls paying an exhorbitant luxury tax. Of course, I'd much prefer Wallace included, since Thomas could essentially replace Wallace's production now.
  20. Whatever do you mean? The Cubs weren't in the playoffs this year.
  21. Is it wrong that I am secretly hoping Noah goes to the Lakers, so I can avoid rooting for him and hate him again?
  22. If Deng stays and Thomas isn't one of the "parts", I already like this deal for the Bulls, assuming they still have a PG at the end of the night. Would prefer Hinrich stay and Gordon go because Gordon's value is diminished with Kobe around. I expect Gordon is probably still gone, but perhaps to the Kings. I'm just implying that Gordon+Hinrich for Kobe works out better for the Bulls than Gordon+Deng for Kobe.
  23. If Deng stays and Thomas isn't one of the "parts", I already like this deal for the Bulls, assuming they still have a PG at the end of the night.
  24. If it makes you feel better, you did say it in a more concise manner.
  25. I don't see how adding a 3rd team makes the amount the Bulls given up any less. They may be splitting the return between the Lakers and Suns, but they still have to give up what's deemed as "Kobe's value". It could if the 3rd team valued the Bulls offerings more highly than the Lakers do. That's different than what Soul was saying, and even then I think it's unlikely that the difference in perceived value is enough to make much of a difference in what the return is. Certainly possible that the Lakers want a "name" player to replace Kobe, and the Bulls aren't willing to part with anyone that satisfies that condition (not to mention that Bryant would veto a trade that included what he thought was too much from the Bulls). Filtering a trade through a third team would allow the Bulls to include more unknown players that would have higher perceived value to a team that isn't looking for a specific name.
