  1. And yet he's the only one in the lineup who made an out so far in the 5th inning.
  2. "Guess what a terrible baseball owner did this time"
  3. If it counts for the Rays and Mets, it counts for the Cubs too. Plus everyone plays everyone this season, so everyone gets their series with the As
  4. The Cubs also now have the 4th best run differential in baseball behind the Rays, Braves and Brewers.
  5. Wisdom has as many HRs as the Nationals and Guardians.
  6. Cubs now with 13 hits and 12 outs offensively.
  7. But we don't even soccer up our soccer. Though MLS is starting to get big enough where it could be split into MLS tier 1 and MLS tier 2 with promotion/relegation between the tiers. It would be a good testing ground for the system on US soil, but also potentially torpedo MLS interest in half the country.
  8. Was at the game today, noticeably fast with the pitch clock, kids didn't get bored during innings, only real downer was that we were in the shade with the wind in our face, which made it feel 10 degrees out there. Only takeaway from the game was my 5yo referring to the Cubs RF as "Miles Easterbunny" which we then repeated throughout the game and spread to nearby fans.
  9. The 8 spot is really the key in that group. Get 8th and you have 2 chances to win one game to make a playoff series. Get 9th or 10th and you have 1 chance to win 2 games to make a playoff series.
  10. I don't think he's pitching to Woodruff, but if the Brewers want to give Steele a free out I feel slightly better about the Cubs chances today.
  11. I would also like to see the social forum, so I can tell people they are wrong about movies and politics.
  12. At least this way they're guaranteed a Mexico game. Would have been slightly disappointing to get a Canada-Panama June slate.
  13. This might be the luckiest call I ever made, going with FAU in the FF because I guessed the East bracket would be a mess of teams I didn't like. Coupled with picking UConn to win it all, I can't lose my bracket pool anymore.
  14. Bulls within a half game of the 8 spot now, 1/2 game behind both the Hawks and Raptors. Thanks to Indiana and Washington losing last night with the Bulls winning, they have a 3.5 game lead on the lottery, so it looks more and more like the Bulls will actually make the play-in game. Also, the 6 spot is 3.5 games away, so they're just as likely to climb out of the play-in games as they are to miss the playoffs entirely (that said, neither option is particularly likely at this point). 8 games to go, Bulls have actually played well recently, just likely not well enough to secure a real playoff spot.
  15. I have a great feeling about the upcoming 2016 season. Lot of young players I expect will contribute during the season, with Bryant and Rizzo leading the way, Lester and Arrieta anchoring the rotation, and young guys like Baez, Russell and Contreras ready to break out and take this team to the next level.
  16. On the bright side, since it looks like you teleported us to the start of the 2016 season, I feel really good about the Cubs chances of winning 100 games and a World Series this year.
  17. Just throwing it out there, but if the base forum URL is going to change from /forum to /forums, would it be simple enough to toss in a redirect from /forum to /forums for those of us that have had this link bookmarked for upwards of 15 years and may not necessarily visit often and aren't overtly aware of the change? Also, those of us that visit daily and have it bookmarked and are lazy or unable to type.
  18. Next up, thanks to a weird schedule quirk, the Bulls see the Lakers for the first time this season, with just 9 overall games to play. The Lakers actually just snuck into the 8 spot in the West with a 2 game winning streak, a half game up on 11th place Dallas. The Bulls have a 2.5 game lead on 11th place right now, and 5 of their remaining 9 games are against Western Conference teams in the playoff hunt (Lakers x2, Clippers, Mavs, Grisslies), one game against likely top seed Milwaukee, one game against current 8 seed Atlanta (whom the Bulls trail by a game), and two games against already eliminated Charlotte and Detroit. The back half of the Western Conference is extremely tight with fewer than 10 games to play, with just 3.5 games separating 4 seed Phoenix (38-34) and 12 seed Utah (35-38). With the top 3 seeds being Denver, Memphis and Sacramento, the West feels especially wide open this playoffs. Meanwhile in the East it looks like for sure Milwaukee, Boston and Philly will make the second round, with that 4-5 matchup being the only thing interesting. But hey, the Bulls could play as many as 6 meaningful playoff games this season!
  19. Same domain but the URL structure will change a bit. The front page will be news - as it is now, but active - while the forums will be at /forums/ instead of the current /forum/. And then there will be loads of other stuff that's all new. Small but big change as far as the URL so thanks for that info. I don't think Tim would be surprised to hear that we all (or at least most) go straight to the forum url and skip the front page entirely. It will be nice to have a front page now after all these years of there not being a front page to the site.
  20. Bears going back to the old Buddy Ryan 4-6 defense, but with 6 linebackers.
