  1. People are going to foul Derrick Rose hard. He's so strong he'll get and 1's otherwise. And considering the Bulls seem to be on a mission to have Hansbrough's vertigo return, the Bulls haven't exactly been innocent either. The Bulls have 2-3 very physical players themselves. Pretty sure Foster is going to miss the next game for that elbow to Deng's head.
  2. Bulls shoot 38%, get outrebounded, lose the turnover battle, Rose shoots 4-18, Boozer 2-10, equalled fouls. How in the world did they win?
  3. Please don't even try to foul them shooting a 3.
  4. Kevin Love wins NBA Most Improved Player award. He should give it to Kurt Rambis, since the only thing that really changed is that the coach actually decided to play him regularly. He got 66 of the 116 first-place votes. LaMarcus Aldridge finished second, Dorell Wright third, Derrick Rose fourth.
  5. Rose 3rd, D12 2nd. EDIT: The answer is more obscure than Dwight Howard, but less obscure than Aaron Gray (who is 84th). God Shammgod? I said less obscure than Aaron Gray.

  7. The funny thing about that is those 4 teams all won the title the previous season. You could make the assumption that, having known what they went through last season, have have paced themselves through the first round. Either that or because they played into June, they weren't running at 100% at that point. Yeah, I'd imagine there weren't many people doubting the legitimacy of any of those teams. I was actually surprised how little it happens. Sure, there were plenty of 1 seeds that had at least one blowout (or at least a 10 point win), but there were also a surprising number of 1 seeds that dropped one of the first two games.
  8. Apparently I'm not quite as bored as some, in comparison. He's actually 4th, believe it or not.
  9. And because I'm bored...through 2 playoff games, which player leads the NBA in Hollinger's postseason PER (player efficiency rating)?
  10. More research: Over the last 25 years, only 5 times (including this year) has a 1 seed won their first two games by single digits. Previous teams: - 2010 LA Lakers - Won NBA title - 1998 Chicago Bulls - Won NBA title - 1989 Detroit Pistons - Won NBA title - 1987 Boston Celtics - Lost in NBA finals
  11. I bet that's only 5/6 total. 38 of 46 total.
  12. Encouraging note of the day (well, not if you're a Pacers fan): Teams that started out 0-2 on the road, and then came back to win their next 2 at home to tie the series have still lost the series 83% of the time.

    Week 3

I personally think holds are a stupid, meaningless stat that shouldn't count for anything. Of course, I think saves are also a stupid, meaningless stat that shouldn't count for anything. It's like game-winning RBIs. Based more on opportunity and circumstance than ability.
  14. Sacramento is getting screwed in this trade. The entire team in exchange for Kevin Johnson?
  15. Maybe today they'll play well for twice as long as the first two games. So, 10 minutes.
  16. Ummmmm what? The Cubs also defeated the Padres on Monday.
  17. Last night's results shifted expectations from hoping RSL could pull it out to being extremely disappointed if RSL can't win it in the second leg next week. No excuses now.
  18. Johnson is 3 for 3 and still cost the Cubs a run or two offensively.
  19. Well, Russell and Stevens made it to the 7th, and the Cubs are still in the game. Somewhat encouraging.
  20. After seeing the video, I'm not sure that's true. That was a low line shot.
  21. Hoping that Russell and Stevens can get at least to the 7th inning.
  22. There's no reason to pitch around Venable here, Samardzija.
  23. Reed Johnson's on deck Stupid, lying Gameday has Reed at the 9th spot and Samardzija on deck. Although, it's Reed Johnson, so the same idea applies as if it were Samardzija.
