  1. The Bears were going to take Paea in the first if Carimi was gone, so at the very least they loved him. Paea was the guy I really wanted for the Colts in the second round (although I was fine with the guy they took). From what I have read about him, he should be good for the Bears as well. Should be a fine replacement for the spot vacated by Tommie Harris three years ago (he was finally released this offseason).

  3. Bears trade up to take Stephen Paea just after Austin gets drafted.
  4. Marvin Austin to the Giants.
  5. DE was a pretty huge need for them, though. Or, maybe the Bucs are hoping their medical staff can merge the two into Robo-DE. Or maybe Clayborn was drafted because his knees would be useful for rebuilding Bowers when he is done with the ones he has.
  6. Bowers to Tampa, who...already drafted a DE in the first.
  7. Also not opposed to Da'Quan Bowers if he still has knees. Even if he just has a 5-year productive NFL career, I'm good with that.
  8. Was he the fastest center at the compound? :)
  9. The Mavs' series win last night means that Kobe and Dirk will play each other in a playoff series for the first time ever.
  10. My favorite part of Sam Smith's Bulls-Hawks preview:
  11. Five things in particular that are encouraging about this Bulls-Hawks series: 1. The Hawks are the worst defensive team left in the playoffs, and their best (and only above average) defender may be injured for the series. 2. The Hawks' offensive "strategy" involves strictly isolation sets, with very little ball movement. The Bulls' defense is particularly designed to handles these well and close out on shooters. 3. The Hawks were outscored on the year, and gradually performed worse as the season went along. The Pacers were the only other playoff team outscored on the year, but at least they got better as the season went on. 4. The Hawks are also the worst offensive team left in the playoffs, and the only above average offensive players that gets consistent minutes are Horford and Williams. The best thing that can be said about Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford this year is that they "could catch fire". Both are terrible defensively. 5. The Hawks are the only team the Bulls played this year where they had at least a 20 point lead in each game. Yes, the second half of that first game was probably the worst half the Bulls played all season, but they've blitzed the Hawks in 10 of the 12 quarters they've played.
  12. Heh, I'm probably going to screw up the Memphis/SA pick, but other than that the super homer picks haven't done too bad yet.
  13. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Bears draft a RB at some point if it's good value for the pick. Even if he were to fall that far, though, I'm not sure LeShoure is that much different from Forte. Bears desperately need a decent second RB option, though.
  14. So....second round pick? Kiper thinks the Bears will have the opportunity to get DT Marvin Austin, which I think would be a great value at the end of the 2nd. I'd just figure they should take the best player available at this point.
  15. I know no playoff opponent should be taken lightly, especially after Indiana stretched the Bulls to 5 games, but...I'm going to take Atlanta lightly.
  16. The Ravens probably won't be dealing with the Bears for a few years, but hey, they got an OT anyway!
  17. That's 15 yards for a late hit. The runner was clearly stopped at this point. My forward momentum was carrying me into the post, I didn't have enough time to cancel.
  18. O-line be damned, if Patrick Peterson falls to #29, I think the Bears should draft him.
  19. It could also be argued that the only reason the puck went into the net was because of the whistle.
  20. Wow...no 2 day waits until game 7? That's very un-NBA like. The first round generally is more drawn out than the rest in order to stagger times enough to avoid overlapping games. After round 1, it generally settles into an every-other-day schedule.
  21. New CONCACAF World Cup 2014 qualifying proposal Summary: - Five preliminary two-leg matches: Montserrat v Belize, Anguilla v Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands v British Virgin Islands, Aruba v St. Lucia and Bahamas v Turks and Caicos Islands. - Five winners plus teams 7-25 in FIFA rankings placed into 6 groups of 4 teams for double round-robin group play. Those other 19 teams: Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago - Six group winners join the remaining top 6 (USA, Mexico, Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cuba) in a semifinal of 3 groups of 4 teams in a double round robin. - Top two finishes of each group advance to the hex. Top 3 finishers in the hex qualify for the World Cup, with the fourth place finisher getting a playoff against another federation team for a spot. So, the USMNT would play 16 qualifying matches instead of 18, essentially eliminating 2 games against Barbados or an equivalent.
  22. Bulls next game will be Monday, 5/2.
