  1. Again, that's a ridiculous notion that they can't afford anything better than a LaHair/Colvin platoon in a starting corner OF position. They're not giving Pujols 70 mil a year.
  2. Yep, 2 rushes and a screen pass.
  3. Have a feeling this ND series is going to be a "Not going to let Rees [expletive] this up" series.
  4. Yep, imagine how good they'd look if they'd stop giving 20 points away per game.
  5. No, Colvin nor LaHair should be looked at as a platoon anything. If they're there as a potential lefty pinch hitter (and the Cubs can somehow afford that luxury for a 25th man) then fine, but there should be no effort to try to make either of them even a part time starter.
  6. He could be the next Kordell Stewart...
  7. Until his outing today, he'd been the Cubs second best reliever after Marshall (now he's just behind Samardzija). I don't see what the problem is keeping him on for 1.5 mil or so.
  8. Wasn't watching (yes, I'm watching the 56-3 game, so sue me), was it blatant or borderline?
  9. As for Illinois not often destroying any opponent, the current 53 point lead would be the largest margin of victory for the Illini football team since 1944, when they beat Illinois State 79-0.
  10. The announcers were saying Illinois has a shot to win their division with the schedule they have this year. I don't know about that, but wow, they may have the easiest schedule they'll ever have this year, with in-division road games against Indiana, Purdue and Penn State (Wisconsin and Ohio State are at home), and they don't have to play Nebraska, MSU or Iowa. The cross-division road game is Minnesota.
  11. Illinois looks really good today. Yes, I know it's a FCS team, but Illinois isn't typically in the habit of destroying anybody, so it's still fun to see.
  12. Least descriptive title ever?
  13. Seven starts week 1, seven starts week 2, ignore final series.
  14. You mean other than the Grizzlies winning their first ever playoff game and series and coming 1 win from the WCF. Also the Preds won their first ever playoff series and played Detroit tough in the 2nd round. Finally, Bruce Pearl got fired. So no Bill, Tennessee has had enough good sports news over the last 4 frickin months. By pick apart, do you mean, support his argument? No. OK the Bruce Pearl thing was a joke. I'm guessing the people of Tennessee probably wanted him to stay there. Then you can add in Memphis going to the National title game 3-4 years ago instead of the Bruce Pearl thing. Plenty of good news already flowin through Tennessee. Certainly not overdue for some. He's probably specifically referring to the Pat Summitt thing. And the Bruce Pearl thing, while deserved, isn't necessarily good news for the state of Tennessee.
  15. Isner not going quietly vs. Murray. Won the third set after losing the first two, and now trying to send the 4th to a tiebreaker. EDIT: 4th set is in a tiebreaker now.
  16. There are now six players remaining in the men's field: Djokovic, Nadal, Federer, Murray....and Roddick and Isner.
  17. Fortunately, though, he has so many of them now that no matter what happens, there are 3 rules to support it.
  18. There's no reason they should be bad. I fear that they aren't bad, which means the Packers are really just that damn good. Packers are sure clicking tonight but you can't judge a Saints D by their performance against a top offense that has been on top of their game. Oh, and the Bears defense has the Packers number so I wouldn't be too concerned about slowing them down. Really? Seeing this shouldn't give a Bear fan pause at all? Not so much. It's the first half of football for the season.
  19. Randall Cobb? I am now convinced the Packers are utilizing fan participation in this game.
  20. Janko Tipsarevic took Djokovic to two tiebreakers in the first two sets, winning one, and then failed to win another game the rest of the match.
  21. Andy Roddick and John Isner both just won their 4th round matches within seconds of each other, so two Americans are on to the quarters. Of course, they'll face Nadal and Murray, respectively, but hey, American mens tennis players in the quarters.
  22. Houston isn't anywhere near the rest of the NL Central teams, while in the AL West they'd at least be near Texas.
  23. That's impossible, unless you want to give teams entire series' off.
  24. The only reason they'd move the Astros to the AL would be to give a 15/15 split.
