  1. If the information I heard about the situation is true, everyone at Illinois is surprised the DA brought charges, as the incident seemed pretty BS from the get go. Again, only hearing one side of the situation of course, but both Whitman and Underwood seemed to be behind Shannon's version of events, but we'll see what Whitman says tonight.
  2. Well, it's a weird day to be an Illini fan. They will play FDU tonight without Shannon. Before the game, at 6pm, AD Josh Whitman will address the Shannon situation. What I know for sure thus far: - It happened in September, while Illinois was at Kansas for football - Shannon has been cooperating with the investigation since it started in September - Charges were formally brought by the Kansas assistant DA on Thursday, which by U of I policy triggered the automatic suspension. Shannon went to Lawrence for arraignment immediately upon the charges being filed. - He is maintaining his innocence and wants to take it to trial to prove innocence rather than try to set up a plea deal. - Not sure how long he'll be suspended for, as I imagine this won't go to trial quickly. There are potential avenues to him playing again until the trial takes place, but it's up to Whitman and the college at this point.
  3. 2 guys get through 6 blockers on a 3 man rush.
  4. The game was lost today on the secondary allowing 5 30+yard pass plays to this offense.
  5. Stevenson, that is not a tackle.
  6. Another blown coverage goes for 30 yards.
  7. Again a disconnect with Mooney, who stops his route just as Fields throws.
  8. That is 3 bad coverages on deep balls this game that have accounted for all the Browns points.
  9. That sack was just a completely missed block assignment.
  10. Any smart NFL coaching staff would go for it, but I am very concerned that the call will be a slow deceloping run up the middle.
  11. When they beat Green Bay.
  12. The punt is now unmuffed.
  13. The secondary got healthy and the d line acquired sweat equity.
  14. Hey look, defensive pressure.
  15. Still want Carolina to get the #1 pick, but this game is probably their best shot at a win left this year.
  16. Honestly didn't hate the shot to Moore on 3rd there. Didn't work out, got 3 points.
  17. That feels kind of like payback for that ridiculous Browns scoring drive where they should have picked off Flacco like 3 times.
  18. That was such obvious offsides that the Bears assumed it was a free play.
  19. Defense needs to get more pressure on Flacco.
  20. Offensive playcalling continues to baffle.
  21. It's amazing how many posters continue to do mental gymnastics to turn the good things Fields does into a Fields dig in one way or another
  22. Just sneak it in at this point.
  23. Sloppy conditions against a great defense and terrible offense. Best that can be said is they're starting to flip the field position.
  24. I remain reasonably confident that the Niners and Ravens are good this year. I'm not entirely sure any other team is good this year. Dallas, KC, Buffalo, and Philly should be good. Detroit didn't look good at any level in either game against the Bears, and nobody else looks noticeably better than this current Bears team.
  25. Tennessee wins their first road game of the season, and the Bears somehow still have the #5 pick after this week, and at the same time are just one game out of a playoff spot in the NFC.
