  1. Nah, I've got 40 teams on my consideration list.
  2. He's the best player in Europe. Yeah, he was the Euroleague MVP, literally.
  3. Two more hours... Also, I'd probably go G-D-A-L-F-J-E-C-L-K-B-H
  4. I'll do it at midnight CST. I'll list those "bubble" teams a little later too. I have half an idea to do this whole selection process blind without team names and simply nitty gritty info on each team (RPI, SOS, R/N, Top 25, Top 50, Top 100, L-100+, L-200+, Best W, Worst L), and just list each team name after they're placed in the S-Curve. Not sure how confusing it'd end up, though, with roughly 80 teams in the different groups.
  5. Harvard about to send Princeton a nice fruit basket.
  6. If anybody's looking for quantity of picks, I have a bunch in the later rounds I'd be willing to use to trade up a bit. 3 in the 4th, 2 in the 7th, 2 in the 11th.
  7. I'd probably go A-H-E-D-B-F-G-K-J-I-L-C
  8. And now I added top 25 records and 200+ losses (there was only one overall, but several of them lost to teams in the 190s). Which I'm sure skews the data even more.
  9. Technically, I should break out top 25 records and differentiate 100+ losses from 200+ losses. I'll get to that eventually.
  10. Rank the teams blindly! TEAM RPI SOS NC SOS R/N TOP 25 TOP 50 TOP 100 L100+ L200+ A 17 60 38 9-7 2-2 3-2 9-4 3 0 B 45 8 52 7-7 1-8 1-10 5-12 0 0 C 49 87 111 7-5 0-0 0-5 5-7 1 0 D 21 5 26 5-9 1-3 3-5 8-9 1 0 E 33 2 11 5-8 1-4 5-6 9-10 2 0 F 67 251 231 14-6 0-0 1-2 4-3 3 0 G 50 19 91 4-9 1-7 3-9 4-10 2 0 H 47 104 63 12-5 1-6 3-6 5-6 2 0 I 44 29 58 5-10 0-5 1-9 6-9 3 0 J 54 51 57 6-8 0-3 2-6 6-10 1 1 K 55 22 17 7-5 0-5 1-8 5-9 2 0 L 75 40 169 3-10 0-5 4-7 7-9 4 0
  11. I admit, I'm kind of hoping USC wins the Pac-12 tourney. They'll get a semi-home bump, and nobody in the conference is unbeatable. That could earn the Pac-12 champ a 15 seed or something.

    draft order

It's your pick now...twice in three picks. The third round has begun!
  13. As long as they keep Milan off the scoreboard, there's a chance.
  14. I was just putting together my lists, and man, the water gets muddy after the top 8 or so, and after 30 or so at-large locks.
  15. An interesting article on VCU and Shaka Smart from Luke Winn: http://ncaa-tournament.si.com/2012/03/06/at-vcu-a-new-point-guard-emerges/
  16. Cespedes is in the system, actually.
  17. Auto Bids (31): ACC: (UNC) America East: (Stony Brook) Atlantic 10: (Temple) Atlantic Sun: Belmont Big 12: (Kansas) Big East: (Syracuse) Big Sky: (Montana) Big South: UNC Asheville Big Ten: (Ohio State) Big West: (Long Beach State) Colonial: VCU Conference USA: (Memphis) Horizon: (Valparaiso) Ivy: (Harvard) MAAC: Loyola MD MAC: (Ohio) MEAC: (Savannah State) MVC: Creighton MWC: (New Mexico) NEC: (Long Island) OVC: Murray State Pac-12: (LOL) Patriot: (Bucknell) SEC: (Kentucky) Southern: Davidson Southland: (UT Arlington) Summit: (South Dakota State) SWAC: (Mississippi Valley State) WAC: (New Mexico State) WCC: Saint Mary's 8 bids accounted for, another 3 or 4 tonight (pending the result of the Princeton/Penn game).
  18. Are there better systems now? I don't follow college basketball too closely. There are few worse systems. Go, drown in knowledge: http://www.masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm
  19. The machine thinks you're GM of the Hornets.
  20. Davidson finally puts away the auto bid for the Southern Conference in two overtimes. I'll update the first post with the running auto-bid total tomorrow.
  21. Saint Mary's doesn't need an at-large bid, as they take the WCC title. Davidson/Western Carolina is now in double OT.
  22. Loyola wins the MAAC, VCU wins the Colonial. Drexel is an interesting at-large case, as they had a terrible OOC resume, but won a league tougher than the Pac-12, so their case is arguably better than Washington. Davidson trying to give away a 12-point lead in the last two minutes in the Southern title game.
  23. Letting him hit where he wants because he's making a lot of money isn't a good point. The money he makes is irrelevant towards his value to the team. The fact that he may be the best slugger on the team this year is value for hitting him 3rd to 5th in the lineup, not first. He's projected to be the 7th most valuable offensive player on the team this year, and that includes someone projected to not be in the league at the start of the season. He's definitely got a better argument to hit at the top of the order than Darwin Barney, though. And Ian Stewart, probably.
  24. Seattle's line was good up the middle and bad on the ends. The Bears' line was the opposite. Lynch was more successful per play than Forte last year, but it's hard to separate how much of that was Lynch and how much of that was the middle of the line holding up so much better.
  25. God, I hope so. All I want to see at this point is the presser where they announce Bruce is gone. It'll be right after their BTT finals loss to Northwestern.
