  1. Blind (mostly) ranking, based on Ken Pomeroy's "Fairness in quality wins" analysis: http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/fairness_in_quality_wins Team T1W T1L T2W T2L T3W T3L Team A 7 2 4 0 14 0 Team B 6 4 9 0 8 0 Team C 6 5 5 1 11 0 Team D 5 2 6 0 14 0 Team E 3 7 6 0 10 0 Team F 5 5 9 1 8 0 Team G 2 2 4 2 17 0 Team H 10 1 4 0 12 1 Team I 8 3 5 0 11 0 Team J 5 4 5 1 13 0 Team K 2 0 8 0 19 0 Team L 9 4 6 0 7 1 Basically, a T1 game is a home game against the top 20, neutral game against top 50, or road game against top 75. A T2 game is home vs 21-60, neutral vs 51-100, road vs 76-175. T3 game is all the rest. Set up so a T1 is a high quality win, a T2 is a losable game, and T3 is win padding.
  2. Why does it not surprise me this comes from a pro golfer... Steve Elkington ‏@elkpga 34m ESPN reporting Michael Sam is leading the handbag throw at NFL combine....No one else expected to throw today
  3. In the Sucks game, somehow Milwaukee leads by 29 at the half and has scored 73 points.
  4. Just want another 3 players to play themselves into discussion for the first 3 picks. That's all. just convince Houston to pick someone below slot, and Florida and the White Sox to not spend overslot on Rodon. Too much to ask?
  5. I did the same thing, mostly came down to whoever showed me how to do either. I'm a natural lefty, so I learned to write that way in school. Almost everything else, people just showed me how to do it righty, so I learned it righty.
  6. 20 days til selection sunday One more week, then. I might set up some blind "Pick who should be the 1 seeds" stuff later tonight.
  7. Is it time to set up NCAA tourney mock stuff already, or are there a couple weeks yet?
  8. Villanueva should stay like this all year.

    Draft?

    If by end of season standings, then points (non-playoffs first): 1. The Process (3-19) 2. Bazingas (7-15) 3. Lynx (8-14) 4. Chicken of Sea (9-13, 5804 pts) 5. Harry's Budcrew (9-13, 6069 pts) 6. Alamo Stealth (9-13, 6585 pts) 7. Quakers (9-13, 6599 pts) 8. Cucamonga Cracker Killers (10-12) 9. Ron Washington's Dealers (11-11) 10. Mighty D-Block (12-10) 11. Galesburg Hand Sanitizers (12-10) 12. Scioscia's Tragic Illness (13-9) 13. Kid Rodelo (14-8) 14. Northside Baseball (16-6) 15. Theocracy (17-5, 6963 pts) 16. Calvinball (17-5, 7282 pts)
  11. Oh, the Bulls are playing tonight? ...huh.
  12. This feels like one of those years Illinois runs with an 11-12 seed to the BTT finals, because their results are so much worse than their overall play. Plus, now the freshmen have actually taken over most of the offensive contribution, and lo and behold they're playing better.
  13. MLS purchased Chivas USA to get it away from Jorge Vergara. They'll rebrand it and keep it in LA. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/02/20/major-league-soccer-purchases-chivas-usa?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=News&utm_campaign=Unpaid
  14. I can't see Shea @ LB being worse than Shea @ DE.
  15. swept PSU and Minnesota, can't beat anyone else
  16. They play in Columbus. These were the games that mattered.
  17. And another 24 strikeouts in 117 PA last season, which were the only PA he had last season. I can more easily excuse an injury season for a player that really showed something special, but I see Vitters about the same as Szczur now, a serviceable filler that could break into the major league roster and fill a bench role possibly. 24 strikeouts in 117 PAs is knock now? It doesn't point towards an exceptionally good hit tool.

  19. What is something Vitters does particularly well, aside from "being about the right age for the league"?
  20. I can't think the sport is boring and repetitive without it being a macho thing? I'm just not sure what the difference between figure skating and any other winter olympic individual sport is, aside from the judging scores (which they've tried to get better at by having no top score and every "trick" have a base score before deductions). I get that the ice dancing is pretty lame since there are basically zero jumps, so it's all artistic flair, but figure skating is similar especially to any of the other trick based events in skiing and snowboarding. At the olympics, I prefer to watch the events in which the olympic event is definitely the biggest deal for the sport. With all the skiing and snowboarding trick events at the X-games, I actually prefer figure skating to the two.
  21. http://media.giphy.com/media/teiEDj7iKHYLC/giphy.gif That part where they did the same series of tricks that the last person did...that part is awesome. Yes, yes, your manhood is secure. Still a better watch than most of the events in the Olympics. Three notes about today's program: - None of the US skaters were expected to be anything other than long shots for medals, so for all of them to be in range makes the free skate worth watching. - With the new scoring rules, most of these events have been decided before the free skate even began since there was such a point difference between the skaters, so having the top 3 within a point of each other (in contrast, the Men's competition was over on the first day with one guy 5 points ahead of everyone and the top 2 20 points clear of the rest). - One of the gold medal favorites screwed up royally four times today, which is something I never saw in the Olympics before.
  22. Women's figure skating will be a good watch as well, with the top 3 women within a point of each other, and all 3 American women in the top 7 and within striking distance of a medal.
  23. Well, that'll make for some exciting hockey over the next 3 days.
  24. Sharp with a goal for Canada, tied 1-1 after 1.
  25. Yeah I noticed that too. I guess I just figured that playing on home soil would give them a boost. I'm just surprised that a team featuring Ovechkin and Malkin had so much trouble scoring.
