    Czechs hold on to win 5-3 after an empty netter and face the US next. Switzerland lost to Latvia 3-1, further reinforcing that group C was extra weak.

Finland, 7 pts 5. Russia, 6 pts (+3) 6. Switzerland, 6 pts (+1) 7. Czech Republic, 3 pts (-1) 8. Slovenia, 3 pts (-5) 9. Austria, 3 pts (-8) 10. Slovakia, 1 pt 11. Latvia, 0 pts (-5) 12. Norway, 0 pts (-9) So, the quarters will go like so: 1. Sweden vs 8. Slovenia-9. Austria winner 4. Finland vs 5. Russia-12. Norway winner 2. USA vs 7. Czech Republic-10. Slovakia winner 3. Canada vs 6. Switzerland-11. Latvia winner If Canada had won in regulation, Canada would have been the 1, Sweden the 2, and USA the 3, with everything else remaining the same. As is, the US gets to face a real team in the quarters thanks to Slovakia playing like ass, then likely Canada in the semis, with whoever makes it out of Sweden/Finland/Russia in the other half of the bracket in the gold medal game.

    Are we setting up the automated keepers again this year where you need to check the players you keep? Or are we just trusting everyone to drop the players necessary? Looks like 4 teams aren't set up in a way that shows who they're keeping yet: NSBB, Tuna, STI and HBC.

    There are basically 8 legit teams made up of NHL-level pros (Russia, Sweden, Canada, US, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland), so any of them not making the quarters would be an upset. That said, getting a top-2 finish in the group round sounds a lot better than playing, say, Canada/Finland in the quarters.

    US looking good for the bye to the quarters even if they lose to Russia right now. Overall standings: 1. US (+6) 2. Finland (+4) 3. Sweden (+2, 1st) 4. Russia (+3, 2nd) 5. Canada (+2, 2nd) 6. Switzerland (+1) 7. Latvia (-1) 8. Norway (-2, 3rd) 9. Slovenia (-3, 3rd) 10. Czech Republic (-2, 4th) 11. Austria (-4) 12. Slovakia (-6) I'd expect Latvia, Slovenia, and Austria to bring up the rear when things get all sorted out, and the top 3 spots will go to group winners, so the 2nd place team with the best differential will end up with the 4 spot.

"Not registered for classes this semester" sounds like an academic issue.

    It's February 12th, and Syracuse has played 5 road games, the toughest of which was @St. John's. The others were @Virginia Tech, @BC, @Miami, and @Wake Forest. They've played the 80th toughest schedule in the nation.
