  1. Germany gets first in the group with a draw. Right, but the US isn't going to lay down, and Germany would rather win than lose.
  2. Yeah, this is exactly why people saying a Ghana-Germany draw was the US's best result was wrong. They were right if there were only 4 minutes of injury time. If there were only four minutes injury time, it didn't really matter because the US was advancing no matter what, unless we're talking about Ghana beating Germany. A Ghana/Germany draw was only a better result if the US beats Portugal, as it gave them a better chance to win the group.

  4. Draw is a better result if Ghana loses to Germany yesterday.
  5. When was the last time both teams had this much to gain from a 0-0 draw?
  6. Can't believe that Ronaldo hit one good ball all day, and it was a pass.
  7. Yeah still a very good not quite great chance. There are many scenarios that get us through, not as many that eliminate us Basically, the only situation that eliminates the US is a blowout loss plus a Ghana win. Do you consider losing by 2 goals a blowout loss? Because that and any Ghana win would knock us put I believe. Yes, a 2 goal loss is blowout enough.
  8. Chances of winning the group understandably down from 20% to 14.8%.
  9. I'm pretty sure nobody will claim Whiteside, and he's probably the kind of guy that would be willing to go back to Iowa.
  10. How far has US Soccer come when a draw against Portugal is disappointing.
  11. You could explain why I'm wrong, or you can be an ass. I see you've chosen the latter (again) Hint: when you resort to calling TT an ass, you're in the wrong. tt has never posted anything funny or interesting that doesn't require a slide rule Oh look, Sponge doesn't get it. How new and different.
  12. Failing to get it is exactly why the other thread exists.

  14. Win or draw and they advance. Loss and they advance if a Portugal win and USA loss net fewer than 5 goal difference, or if US lose by 1 and Ghana win by 1 and Ghana doesn't score more than 1 more goal than US.
  15. Portugal win.
  16. Terrible giveaway by Bradley.
  17. Yes, because winning the group counts as good as a free pass to the quarters.
  18. Make that 5 minutes. Gonzalez in for Zusi, another good move.
  19. Four minutes...
  20. No padding in the back, and football players generally don't run 20 yards with a full kick at the back of the leg. True, but some of these guys go down when they're at a stand still Plus, it's about 110 degrees in the amazon jungle with 100% humidity.
  21. Heart in throat for this corner.
  22. Token 5 minutes for Wondo, just stay out there and poach.

  24. Ronaldo and 5 Portuguese offside.
