  1. Kershaw Felix Jered Weaver Verlander Hamels Lester Buehrle Sabathia Greinke Cain But yeah, it's...pretty bleak And Sabathia's career is basically over at 33.
  2. What? That's kind of absurd and a false equivalence. Alcantara gives you the best chance to know what you've got going forward.
  3. Hey guys, how's the game goin... http://38.media.tumblr.com/6228573587d4ec5b83d10d8453176ee6/tumblr_mxwyznfaxF1rbjoeao1_400.gif
  4. So today's starters are Travis Wood and Tsuyoshi Wada? Edit:TIL that Travis Wood is a year younger than Jake Arrieta.
  5. I'm not sure I like anyone in the Brewers system enough that they'd crack the Cubs' top 10.
  6. With Buxton's injury and depending on the flavor of SS prospect you prefer, there's a rational argument to be made that the Cubs have the top 3 prospects in baseball.
  7. I'm going to have to give the voting public a pass on that one. Call it the "lifetime achievement award".
  8. A number of middle relievers, Mark Buehrle, Scott Kazmir.
  9. Along with Anthony Rendon and Justin Upton. EDIT: And Casey McGehee and Justin Morneau. So does he have a shot? He has a shot, but everyone on the list (aside from maybe McGehee) deserves to be there over a couple of NL selections.
  10. Along with Anthony Rendon and Justin Upton. EDIT: And Casey McGehee and Justin Morneau.
  11. Baez at 2nd. Bryant at 3B. That's a potential 125 HR infield. I bet our SS and 1B will hit a few too ????? He's suggesting that Baez and Bryant can crack 125 between the two of them.
  12. @andyroddick 17m Best I've seen Roger serve since ....... Damn it
  13. And thus the Diamondbacks have established a new all time level for selling low.
  14. This is one of those weird trades where both teams trade from weaknesses to strengths, both ends make sense, and both teams are better for it.
  15. Welp, the game outcome today was just about the worst case scenario for the legion of meatball Cub fans on social media against the trade.
  16. Tony Campana has an OPS+ of 1 this season.
  17. https://twitter.com/search?q=alcantara%20a%27s&src=typd
  18. SS prospects and injured pitching prospects are the new market inefficiency.
  19. I'm kind of expecting the PTBNL to be the A's Alcantara, from how much his name was bandied about yesterday, and the fact that he's injured right now.
  20. Catching up on Len's twitter feed, looks like even he's getting frustrated with fans' lack of understanding... Len Kasper @LenKasper · 1h I REPEAT: stockpiling SS's is a good thing. Sheffield/Cabrera/A-Rod/Yount/Matt Williams/Billy Hamilton all began as SS's. Long list. Len Kasper @LenKasper · 1h If the Cubs were stockpiling LF's, then yes, you could be concerned. @LenKasper · 1h Cubs got best 3 months of Hammel's career & sold very very high on Samardzija who wasn't gonna sign long-term deal. & the issue is...what?
  21. Valbuena has been in an awful slump the past two weeks or so.
  22. No. Sutcliffe said that Theo said that if they win 10 in a row we're buyers. Almost halfway there. I'd say if they were somehow ahead of the Marlins by the ASB, they might actually be considered contenders. They'd still have 4 other teams to pass, but 4 is more reasonable than 8, and if they can get past the Marlins, they'll be within striking distance of everyone else. For now, they're just "not terrible", which is a change of pace, but not buyer territory.
  23. As usual, Donovan cares 6 months after we need him to.
