  3. My 7yo watched all of these and now he really wants to get a #17 bomb pop.
  4. Ruggiano, Sweeney, DeJesus, Schierholz... Not sure if serious... Seems to me their strategy with the OF is extremely similar to their strategy with back-end rotation options. Take a couple shots, try to maximize their value to the team, and then flip them if things work out well. They didn't flip Schierholz last year after his torrid first half, and they didn't get as much for DeJesus as they'd have liked, but that doesn't mean they haven't done it in the OF exactly as they have with the pitchers.
  5. Ruggiano, Sweeney, DeJesus, Schierholz...
  6. Cubs draft 2014: Pitchers and Catchers.
  7. Wright in to pitch the 8th. EDIT: Or rather, Wright in to face just Yelich, now Ramirez in for Lucas and presumably Stanton.
  8. Yes, the Cubs are actually playing better and we can't just be satisfied with that since it's only been at home and they have a bunch of home games left.
  9. 99 pitches through 7 for Hammel, 76 through 6 for Eovaldi.
  10. More home than road games, since they've played 31 road games and 26 home games? Nope. Not in between now and June 18th. We have 3 homes against Miami, and then 10 road games (no days off either). And after that, they'll have 41 road games and 53 home games remaining. So yes.
  11. John Baker intentionally walked to face Hammel. Not sure that's the right play.
  12. From a perfect game to losing in 3 pitches.
  13. More home than road games, since they've played 31 road games and 26 home games?
  14. The Florida Marlins are the highest scoring non-Coors team in the NL. Wouldn't have expected that.
  15. If you need to feel grounded we still have the worst record in the NL But the Rays have the worst record in the majors.
  16. How often does a reliever get picked in the first round?
  17. That would make 13 of 19 pitcher picks so far.
  18. Bowden hates the pick, so I'm in favor. It's better that Rodon went ahead of them to the Sox, or I'd have been disappointed they took Schwarber over Rodon. As is, though, any time you can take the best bat in the draft, it's a good pick. Plus, the Big Ten is the equivalent of AA in baseball, so he's practically ready for the big leagues already...
  19. I've been all in on Rodon since the start of the year, and things have just about lined up perfectly for the situation where he's there for the Cubs, so go on that scenario. EDIT: My top 4 choices: Rodon, Aiken, Jackson, Kolek
  20. That was trouble as soon as Leddy was both on the ice and minus a stick.
  21. Yeah, I have some fond memories of that 3-1 OT victory over the Wings last year.
