  1. I thought sign stealing came mostly out of center field.
  2. 3rd period predictions: Sharpie gets the hatty, Hawks hold on to win by 1.
  3. Basically the Hawks completely dominated the 2nd and caught a couple bad bounces, one that let up a goal that was basically nobody's fault.
  4. The biggest concern I have for the 3rd period are phantom make-up calls to make the PP #s look more even.
  5. You sure do like to bitch a lot in a game the Blackhawks are pretty handily outplaying the opponent. He does bitch way too much, but I don't think we're outplaying them. It's hard to say because sometimes we've been depending on playing it "safe" and trying to keep them on the perimeter without playing for risky breakouts, which isn't great for puck possession, but LA has had the better of it I think. Blackhawks have outchanced them last I checked (just prior to end of 2nd) 15-10 total, 12-9 EV. Completely dominated the 2nd period.

  7. It's in the USMNT's best interest that TUrkey doesn't get a red, though, since it makes the friendly rather pointless from a preparation point of view.
  8. Except that's not really what anyone's saying. Just that they aren't as bad as their W-L record, because their Pythag was both significantly better and more predictive. That's what Kyle literally just said. Kyle doesn't count. Actually, I'm looking for a FG article that explained a better predictive measure than Pythag on run differential that showed the Cubs were about halfway between decent and awful thus far (and was going to calculate an update of that measure), but finding old articles on FG isn't really easy.

  10. So why is he a dope? That sounds pretty tame and inoffensive and mostly just the cliche stuff you would hear after a game like that. He's just mad that he's playing so well and still getting overshadowed by Kane since he can't quadruple shift to lock down both Toews and Kane. Then again, the Kings might try that on game 7 anyway.
  11. FYI, College of Charleston is definitely not a traditional 4 seed - they're at worst a 3 seed (and I even saw one projection where they were a 2). They got stuck in Florida as a 4 because of some BS that the committee wanted to keep them close but didn't want them in South Carolina's regional. FSU... that was surprising. They normally choke once they get to Omaha. :) FSU lost again to Alabama and is out of their home Super Regional after going 0-2.
  12. Maybe he's perfecting those time wasting skills we all know and love from Ghana.
  13. Complaining on a message board about people discussing a sports event on a sports event message board is among the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Go get bent.
  14. Blackhawks have scored 9 goals the past 2 games, and Kane was at least partially responsible for 7 of them.
  15. Every time the Hawks look done, they remind us they have Patrick Kane and other teams don't.
  16. Theocracy gets CCK's 3rd round MLB pick in the Reyes-Diaz trade. CCK gets Theocracy's 6th round MLB pick.
  17. What a boring game that was. 18 shots on goal in an elimination game, only 6 per period.

    Week #9

Diaz was drafted in the prospect draft.
  19. Kane and Saad were the two best players on the ice today.
  20. Castro and Rizzo are fine. Sip the kool aid much? lol This has been "Throwing darts to evaluate talent", by LLF.
  21. I think you're double counting his IBB, it's already included under BB if you're looking at BBRef. Not that it makes an appreciable difference, he's at a .725 OPS if my math isn't messed up. League average OPS is about .760, to give a basic perspective. Not there yet, but a lot closer than he was. Iowa's actually the worst hitting team in the league (mostly due to park factors).
  22. Fun fact: There have only been 3 pitching seasons in major league history where the pitcher has posted a sub-.400 winning percentage, saved at least 12 runs, and led his league in ERA+. Samardzija's 2014 already counts, having saved 15 runs already up to today. The other two were Nolan Ryan's 1987 and Joe Magrane's 1988.
  23. All of them, including the OF the Cubs currently have in Iowa.
  24. Baez's season OPS up to .715, up from .498 two weeks ago. EDIT: Oh, right, we're doing gifs now. http://www.totalprosports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/yankees-fan-excited-about-foul-ball-baseball-fan-gifs.gif
  25. Got a feeling Illinois is going to be on the wrong side of the bubble this year. Bad week to lose 2 of 3.
