  1. There are now only two teams in baseball with fewer losses than the Cubs.
  2. Someone like Keith Moreland?
  3. Showcase Schwarber for Minnesota this weekend. Then swing a Schwarber for Buxton deal.
  4. I think the Rangers should try and get him. Yeah that would be a good fit. As long as he goes to the East or a crappy west team. I'm still curious how many players the Hawks can send to Winnipeg before they stop being a crappy west team.
  5. If only this Bryant kid could hit the Cubs would really have something tonight.
  6. Hawks are a clear second in the city after the Bears right now. Bulls are a distant third, Cubs fourth, Sox fifth.
  7. Stat that amazes me: Neither team has had even a two goal lead at any point in the series.
  8. The last 5 games the SP have gone 4, 6 and 5 innings 3 times including 1 extra inning game. Only Strop and Russell should be unavailable. Wood and Grimm have gone 3 of the past 4 days, with Wood throwing a total of 4.1 innings. Motte has also gone the past two days in a row.
  9. Three straight starts that didn't go past the fifth, including an extra inning game?
  10. Good chance Schlitter is the first arm out of the pen today.
  11. In the U-20 quarters, both teams that had been dominant to this point, Germany and Portugal, both lost in PKs today. US U-20s are still 0-0 at the half with Serbia. If they can win this, they'd face Mali in the semis.
  12. There are currently only three teams in baseball with fewer losses than the Cubs.
  13. It seems like the only reason he thought it was "done" was because the Cubs were at 39 on the 40 man roster.
  14. Active players drafted out of high school as a 1B: - Anthony Rizzo - Adrian Gonzalez - Prince Fielder - James Loney - Edwin Encarnacion - Freddie Freeman - Logan Morrison - Eric Hosmer - Jonathan Singleton - Chris Carter - Mark Trumbo
  15. Since 1965, I can only find 3 players drafted out of HS as a first basemen. One was Logan Morrison. EDIT: The search didn't work right. Lots of 1B drafted out of HS.
  16. Most likely not. He'd likely go in the 20s.
  17. Imagine what he'll be with protection! I see that and think "why would anyone ever pitch to him?"
  18. Ian Happ: .369/.492/.672/1.164 Rest of Cincy: .219/.313/.303/.616
  19. Astros pick at 37, could end up with 3 really highly projectable players today.
  20. Ian Happ. Succeeded in a situation where he was really the only offensive option on that team.
  21. That would be a monumentally terrible pick.
  22. Certainly confident the Cubs don't draft a pitcher here, at least.
  23. I don't think he said Benintendi.
  24. Did he just say Minnesota is building from the bullpen forward?
