  1. ND looks like a real solid team this year.
  2. Not really surprised. I don't think anyone else really wanted him for that much money.
  3. Wow. 02, 03, and 06 were real awful.
  4. Cubs.com is always late. True. Well nothing is on Rotoworld either.
  5. About as far as I would go would be the first round pick and Thomas. The only reason I'm ok with trading Thomas to net KG is because he plays at the same position as Deng and Noc. I'd be comfortable letting him go to Minnesota if that meant we were getting KG. If that won't get it done, I wouldn't even try to get Garnett. Deng and Gordon have to be mainstays on this team. I know Gordon is inconsistant at times, but you can't let a pure scorer like him get away.
  6. We'd be trading Gordon as well in that deal. Gordon + Deng + Thomas + a definite lottery pick. Definitely not. Plus if that deal actually happened (God forbid), we'd be seeing much more of Griffin and Khryapa.
  7. Ok, explain to me who else you would want that is available. lets see, i dunno maybe someone whos going win w/o the support of a great offense like the sox have...lets go out and get westbrook who is BETTER...maybe even penny...who is BETTER The Indians wouldn't trade one of their starting pitchers to a division rival. No one knows if Penny is really on the market either.
  8. Ok, explain to me who else you would want that is available.
  9. I want Garnett in the worst possible way, but we'd be giving up way too much in that deal.
  10. Why aren't we going after Suppan?!?! And yeah, I also really don't want Weaver, but he's a slight upgrade over Marquis.
  11. Yeah, that could make sense. Rosenthal reported that the deal is dead and that Sox officials headed back to Chicago this morning.
  12. Awwwwwwwww. And who knows if the Cubs or Blue Jays will contend? The Jays are in the AL East and the Cubs, well, they're the Cubs. I'm glad we didn't land Meche. Now let's quickly pry Garland away from the Sox :)
  13. Ok, I'm getting pissed off here. Why don't WE trade for Garland??? We could beat an offer like that and we would land perhaps the best starter that is realistically on the market.
  14. They looked awful. I don't know how they beat us by 15 at their place. They are awful, and I don't know how they did that either. I just hope they lose and get a lottery pick. And fire Billy King too. The Sixers definitely need to trade Webber. He's a shell of his former self. The worst thing I saw for Philly was their interior defense. Wow, there can not be a worse interior D in the NBA.
  15. They looked awful. I don't know how they beat us by 15 at their place. Winning is fun :D Time to go over .500 with a win on Friday against the Raptors.
  16. Does anyone else here think that Floyd is going to be traded somewhere else in another deal? I don't see how this helps the Sox at all because I thought they were trying to open a rotation spot for McCarthy. Adding another starter in Floyd doesn't make much sense at all.
  17. I'd much rather have Suppan than either Lilly or Meche. This FA pitching class is a joke, but Suppan is the lesser of the three evils.
  18. Hope they take him up on it. If we miss Lilly AND Meche, what does that mean for us? (And don't just grumble Marquis, I am sincerely curious) Suppan.... who i've thought as a better option over Lilly. I'd like Suppan over both Lilly and Meche. And then of course, hopefully a trade that would bring Garland/Garcia or Westbrook here.
  19. That deal makes very little sense. I'm not sure if I understand it either.
  20. It really does make sense. They have a surplus at an area where we need and we have a surplus (bullpen arms) that they need.
  21. The praying for Prior and Miller to be healthy by April will begin.
  22. For once, I hope the Yankees win a bidding war.
  23. I don't. I think the focus is Lilly and Meche, like we've been hearing all along. Zito will be choosing between the Mets for 5/75 and the Rangers for 6/100. Yay for overpaying for mediocrity! I pray for trade opportunities to open up. Let's look across town. Williams is supposedly shopping either Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, or Vazquez to open up a spot for McCarthy. Why don't we look into that and try to pry one of them (with the exception of Vazquez for obvious reasons) away? They need some bullpen help so I would try to trade them Eyre, Marmol, and maybe a couple of other prospects for one of those three pitchers. Whether we like it or not, that is probably the best chance that the Cubs are going to have to improve on their rotation. Either one of the Sox pitchers or Jake Westbrook.
