  1. The wild card could be Adrian Peterson, but yeah, I tend to agree. Seems to me that if the top 3 picks go to Detroit, Oakland and Tampa, then you've got three teams that don't really need a RB picking first. Then at 4-9 you've got Washington and Arizona, who won't be picking RBs; Cleveland, who probably would pick Peterson, and Houston, who SHOULD pick Peterson - but they're so incompetent that they might not. He seemed like a great fit for Green Bay, but with the win last week and another likely win this week against Detroit, they might have to "settle" for a guy like Marshawn Lynch. Eh, I kind of hope we don't take an RB in this year's draft. I'm holding out hope that we can sign restricted FA Michael Turner in the offseason. I'm definitely hoping we either draft a WR or a safety for our first pick.
  2. Calder's had an awful year so far. Only 3 goals and a +- of -17. That's abysmal. I'd like to keep Vandermeer, but I'd trade Cullimore in a heartbeat for Calder.
  3. Harrington, Jackson, Daniels, and O'Neal.
  4. Ugh, Anderson is hurting Hawk's ROTY chances everytime he makes a sack...
  5. Thabo and Tyrus finally come in with under 2 minutes left in the game.
  6. Most of his shots are wide open shots. I don't know why we can't put a hand in his face. He did the same thing to use a couple of Saturday's ago as well.
  7. Bulls have only played 8 men so far tonight??? Thomas, Sefolosha, Allen, and Sweetney have not played at all.
  8. A St. Louis player had touched it already (accidentally). At that point the bears can pick it up and get a free run....basically the worst case scenario is the ball is the bears where it was touched, best case scenario he runs it for a TD The worst case scenario is that a Rams player never did touch the ball and Worrell costs the Bears the game. There's nothing to be gained from it, but plenty to lose. And that's two weeks in a row that he's done that. Yeah that's what I thought. It looked real similar to the OK-USC national title game a few years ago when that guy on Oklahoma made a bonehead play and touched the ball and USC returned it for a TD.
  9. Uh what the hell was that Worrell guy doing???
  10. Yeah I agree. That was a pathetic drive in terms of playcalling.
  11. Why would the Bears run for one yard with Jones and THEN call a timeout? Dumb playcalling if you ask me. Now St. Louis is going to get the ball back with plenty of time left.
  12. The Bears D entirely relies on pressure on the QB. I don't care who's in the secondary; if you don't get pressure on the QB, you will get beat through the air.
  13. SIU is now ranked 30th and 31st in the polls.
  14. When you're 5-8, there's no such thing as a freebie. True I guess, but I've seen Detroit in 3 games this year. They are the worst team in the NFL, period. I've seen Oakland in 3 games too and at least they have a defense. The Lions don't have a D and Kitna is almost as bad as Brooks. The Raiders will at least win one more game this year. The Lions probably won't. No offense to the Lions, but the Raiders offense could be one of the worst of all time. The complete and total incompetence of the Raider offense is, at this point in the season, downright hilarious. Nothing about this team surprises me anymore. If the Raiders do manage to win a game, it will be because of the defense. The Lions offense took another hit today as Kevin Jones is likely to miss the rest of the season. The Raiders offense is horrible. No QB, a broken down RB, a real sub-par O-line. But I think the defense can win you guys a game against the Rams. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the Rams have been playing about as bad as anyone the last month or so.
  15. Belushi's a disgrace to SIU alums everywhere.

  17. If that happens, I'm guessing we'll have a very angry and unhappy Lance Briggs on our hands. He already seemed to be unhappy in the offseason and in training camp. Giving Briggs the franchise tag would not suit well with him, at least I wouldn't think so. Why would it not? Wouldn't he be paid among to top 4 Linebackers in football? Possibly, but if they decide to tag Briggs, wouldn't that eliminate any other discussions with any other team? If he wasn't really happy with the team, I don't understand why you would do that to a player. He wouldn't be able to explore FA at all if the tag was placed on him. At least that's how I thought the Franchise Tag went. Guesswork by a Packer fan. What? Where did you get the notion that Briggs doesn't like Chicago? I mean, i guess he would like the be the number 1 linebacker elsewhere, but he still likes playing with the Bears if he had the pay that Drew Rosenhaus wants for him. (Which is more than Urlacher btw  ) Yay, a post that has not one, but TWO rolleyes. Congrats. Oh, I don't know. Maybe by the fact that he wanted a new deal and he was displeased with how the team was treating him? Also, I was pretty sure that the Bears were going to make Harris their #1 priority in the offseason in terms of getting a new contract worked out. One of my Bears fan friends told me a couple of weeks ago that they would more than likely have to pick one or the other and they wouldn't be able to sign both. I'm not a Bears fan, so I wouldn't know. I took his word for it. Instead of rolling your eyes at me, why don't you tell me YOUR definition of what the franchise tag is?
  18. Well a freebie this week. Keeps the slim playoff hopes alive  Go Dallas, Pittsburgh, Giants, and Raiders.
  19. I think it was safe to say the Chargers were the best team in the AFC before the Colts embarassing performance today.
  20. San Fran did that against us too at the end of the game. Never saw that before until today. Details for those who didn't see? We had the ball at the 49ers 5 at a little more than 2 mins to play. We kneeled down 3 straight times and turned the ball over on downs. They had about 50 seconds left in the game and they proceeded to kneel down two times to end the game. Usually, QBs and WRs try to pad the stats at the end even though the game is in doubt. I was somewhat amazed that they just decided to kneel down to end the game.
