  1. According to ESPNEWS, Piniella wants Wood to close for him next year.
  2. Unless you're referring to Zito, you can't make that statement, knowing that Schmidt wanted to stay on the West Coast. We weren't even mentioned in the 3 finalists for Schmidt. The Cardinals were. Last I checked, they weren't on the west coast. Well lets be honest, isn't the Cardinals at this point in time more deserible for a player with no midwest ties then Chicago? More than likely, yeah. I'm glad he didn't go to St. Louis, but I am pretty disappointed that we weren't able to land him. 4 or 5 years of Lilly-Pad and/or Meche should be real fun...

  4. So Hendry's going to overpay for a couple of mediocre starters, yet he can't overpay for a good starter. Glad to see the Jim Hendry we all know and love is back :x
  5. Are you crazy did you not see all those posts the Wild hit. I listened online and obviously heard about it. But we had a 1-0 lead and a 2-1 lead, not to mention we had two chances in the shootout to win the game. I'll definitely take the point at a tough place to win at. We have a winnable game on Thursday against the Coyotes. Two points in that game would be appreciated :) espn's schedule says they play at Minnesota again on Sat. is that right, and if so, does it get any stupider than that? Yeah, after our game against the Coyotes, we travel back to Minnesota. I really don't understand that at all, but the schedules that were made post-lockout don't really make that much sense anyway.

  7. Hawks lose 3-2 in a shootout. The shootout went to six shooters with the Wild finally winning it on the 6th try. The Hawks scored two shootout goals to the Wild's three. At least we got a point out of it, but it was a game that we easily should've won.
  8. Agreed. care to back this up? His only two good years (02 and 04) he had BABIPs 70 points and 40 points lower than his LD% would have predicted as well as LOB% higher than league average and well above his other years. OK, so that suggests that during the two years that he was significantly above-average (120 ERA+ each year), he was lucky. So again - where is the evidence that he sucks? I don't necessarily think he "sucks" but is around the average to slightly below-average ranking. We could do a lot better than Lilly (Schmidt, Jennings), but we could also do worse than Lilly (Meche).
  9. Hendry said that? I thought he wouldn't be able to comment on Jennings, since he is under contract with another team. Is that tampering? I never thought it was smart for a GM to comment on what he was doing.
  10. I really hope Hendry doesn't go after Jennings, either. He is not very impressive. You could have probably had him for next to nothing last year. We could've also had Manny for nothing when he was placed on irrevocable waivers. All we would've had to do was take on his contract.
  11. Only 4 weeks left in the season and only two teams are eliminated from postseason contention. Parity is definitely doing its thing.
  12. Ah, why not? Packers are only two out of 5th and 6th with 4 to play. Mind as well still root for us to win on Sunday. But please win TB, Detroit, Washington, and please tie Carolina-Giants. Thanks.
  13. I didn't see a flag. I was saying it was interference, not that the idiots were going to make the call. Joe Theismann is full of crap, that was more than 5 yards downfield. Even if it's not PI it's contact. There definitely should've been a flag on the play.
  14. I've never been a fan of the fade either. The two wild-card teams in the NFC are going to be 6-6. Wow, I really wish we had the Rams game and the Bills game back...
  15. Oh God...
  16. Great playcall.
  17. And Carolina already is in Kasay range.
  18. I would think that Carolina will get at least a FG this drive.
  19. It's likely. The only decent team out of that bunch is Indiana.
  20. Havlat is doubtful tomorrow, but a return is probable on Thursday night against the Coyotes.
  21. That was atrocious defense.
  22. I miss Mike Wahle
  23. I think a Carolina win should all but gurantee them at least a wild-card spot in the playoffs.
