  1. Vernon Wells No way that happens. Jones is no beast. Marshall and Mateo might bring a fourth OF type (ie Ryan Church). A mid-high range prospect? Pie? The Blue Jays are desperate for SP after losing out on both Lilly and Meche. I think that they would have at least some interest in Marshall. But don't they already have young OF's waiting in the wings for Wells in case he is traded? I don't think they'd have an interest in Jones.
  2. Vernon Wells Depending on who that mid-high range prospect is, I would probably do that deal.
  3. Seriously, if we were going to get a project, I'd have rather had Meche. This move pisses me off, but our rotation could be in worse shape, such as Houston's. I'd have much rather wanted Suppan though...
  4. You drank too many rum and cokes last night too? More than enough. Definitely feeling the after-effects of it.
  5. and if he doesn't we may just be talking once again about the Kenny Williams that did the Todd Ritchie deal instead of giving credit to the guy that got lucky with virtually his entire 2005 roster. He also got David Wells for Mike Sirotka and a couple of other bums.
  6. I knew I threw up for a reason earlier today. Ugh.
  7. For a ex-decent prospect? Jones has more value than that. I know if I were the GM I would try to get the best available player for Jones. I wouldn't trade Jacque to trade Jacque. Lofton SHOULD NOT be considered an every day player. And no way in hell would I pay him 6 million. If he is willing to take 2 million then I would consider it. Hendry didn't help out Jones' value by saying he would be open to trading Jones to any other team. you know, this has been refuted. Hendry never said that or expressed anything but a willingness to make a trade to improve the team, but you keep going to that well repeatedly. Hendry's made enough mistakes. you don't need to make crap up or keep throwing out some unnamed source in an unattributed article to bash him. Repeatedly? This is the first time I mentioned that. I took my information from that thread. I don't know how I am making up "crap."

  9. I would definitely do that. But I'm 99.9% sure that Moore would want some top prospects from us in return.
  10. Wow, this makes no sense. So how many HRs will Pierre and Gonzo combine to hit at Dodger Stadium this year?
  11. You gotta love that trade (assuming it's back on now). But, I still think the Sox move Hirsh and Gonzalez for another bat. I have a feeling Kenny Williams has some other trade brewing. Willis, Tejada, and maybe even A-Rod make the most sense. That would be a good deal for the Sox, if they were to land Hirsh. But you would have to think that they want to contend again in 07, so I'm sure that would just be part of a bigger package to land a top player.
  12. I trust Hoops source much more than MLBbushleaguerumors.com. Seriously, have they ever had a rumor that turned out to be correct?
  13. Stony Brook isn't Division I right? If they aren't, the loss doesn't go against PSU's RPI because the RPI only takes into effect the Division I games. I know this for a fact because last year, SIU lost to D2 Alaska-Anchorage, but the game didn't count as far as the RPI. It still qualified as one of our "bad losses" to the selection committee, but as far as the RPI went, it didn't help or hurt it. No, Stony Brook is an America East team. They were 4-24 last year, but they are D-I. Wow, I've never heard of them until they beat PSU. How did THAT team beat a Big 10 team?
  14. You read my mind. Giles sounds like a good option. Hopefully Hendry gets involved in this.
  15. It's MLBbushleaguerumors. I don't trust it. And if we signed Marquis, that is one AWFUL deal.

  17. Warrennolan.com is another good RPI site.
  18. I saw the highlights on ESPN just a few minutes ago. WOW, that would've been an amazing game to see in person.
  19. Ugh, these SO losses sting. I'll take the point, but you have to get 2 points at home against a team like the Coyotes. Now we go back to Minnesota on Saturday night to face the Wild again. Hopefully we can snatch two points up there.
  20. Carter looks like a stud. Three point play possibility!!! Wow, ND was on the verge of a monumental collapse and then they go on a 7-0 run in the span of just a few seconds.
  21. Doubt that's going to happen, especially with Smith back for Illinois. UIC beat NIU by over 20 last night. NIU is going to really struggle this year. Losing by 23 to a very mediocre UIC team is a pretty strong indication that NIU is going to suck this year.
  22. Lieber would be a good option.

  24. Kenny Williams. I like everything about him; not afraid to take risks, does the most with the given payroll that he gets, like his attitude, etc. But I don't think there's a chance in hell that he would come to the Northside.
