  1. Another bowl, another blowout, and yet another L for me in Bowl Mania.
  2. Time to start another win streak. Enjoy it. Truth. Beat the 'Cats tomorrow.
  3. Yeah, the Bulls' point differential and strength of schedule indicate they're better than their record. They're also 9-2 this month. Can't win 'em all, and the Knicks are on a bit of a hot streak as Shavo suggests. They might win 35 this year. :D While I agree we have done well this month, tonight's game shows what can happen to a jump shooting team. If we can't make our jump shots, we're in trouble. Our defense needs to be able to carry us when our offense isn't making shots. This team has a lot of good defenders. We should not be constantly giving up 100 points per game to teams.
  4. Hawks won 3-1 as they scored three unanswered to win the game. Smolinski netted a shorty in the 2nd to tie the game at 1, Bondra scored his 500th goal in the 3rd, and Seabrook added an insurance goal late in the 3rd. With the win, the Hawks are only one point out of 8th and they play the Avalanche tomorrow, the team that is currently in 8th.
  5. Hinrich, Nocioni, and to a lesser extent, Duhon, were the most responsible for this loss tonight. Hinrich and Noc played like absolute crap tonight. Going to lose to the Knicks. This team isn't as good as our record indicates. We still have a lot of work to do on the defensive end.
  6. I swear, sometimes I get the feeling that this damn team just does this to me deliberately. How the HELL can you be losing by 11 to the KNICKS?
  7. Griffey was my favorite player in the game growing up. It really is a shame that he became so injury prone.
  8. That it was. We EASILY should've won by at least 3 TDs. Another game where we outgain the opponent heavily, in terms of total yardage, and we still barely win the game. We outgained Detroit by over 200 yards last week and only won by 8 and we outgained the Bills by almost 200 yards and still found a way to lose by 14. Regardless though, our D is improving as the season goes on. Aaron Kampman is becoming a stud and we're actually starting to get pressure on the QB now. I'll take the W. We have a decent chance at finishing 8-8 as we will more than likely play against the Bears 2nd and 3rd stringers for about 3/4's of the game next Sunday. Hopefully the Giants, Falcons, and Rams lose on Sunday... HAHA...good luck with that. Weinke and his 17-game losing streak as a starter are starting again Sunday. Which is why I'm thankful that the Falcons only have to lose one of their remaining two :)
  9. OK, you can come back from la-la land any time now. :D If we faced the first stringers, we would have NO chance at all. I think the first game of the season indicated that. I think we definitely have improved since then, but we'd probably still lose by 2 TD's. But if the Bears are smart, they would more than likely rest most of their starters by the 2nd quarter and all of their starters by the start of the 2nd half. I don't think it's THAT much of a stretch
  10. Thank you ESPN.com link writers for being morons. Haha, I was just about to post the same exact thing.
  11. Sign him up. And yeah, I'm serious too.
  12. Actually, I should revise that about the Rams. If three or more teams tie at 8-8 in the NFC (hopefully if the case were us, Atlanta, and St. Louis), we'd have the tiebreaker on all of them based on conference record. So as long as we beat the Bears, the Giants lose out, and the Falcons lose just one of their last two, we'll be in. Still a long shot, but if the Saints beat the Giants this weekend, we'll definitely be alive for week 17.
  13. That it was. We EASILY should've won by at least 3 TDs. Another game where we outgain the opponent heavily, in terms of total yardage, and we still barely win the game. 14. SIU beat Central Michigan, 74-61. The Salukis' travel to California on Saturday to take on St. Mary's to wrap up their non-conference schedule.
  15. They might argue over which toolsy gold glover hits the best with RISP, but the end result is the same. They keep making the same mistakes. Yeah, mistakes like acquiring DLee, Ramirez, Murton, Barrett, and Howry. Mistakes like developing Zambrano, Hill, Wuertz, Ohman, Wood, and Prior. These guys are so incompetent. Why do they even have jobs? I could do better with my elementary knowledge of statistics! i know, the cubs have been totally awesome since hendry took over! 5 outs from the WS. Hendry hasn't done jack. FIRE HIM NOW! Oh, and viva la revolution! Hoorary for almost! Hooray for 4 years ago! More like 3, but who's counting? Oh and 2004 was pretty darn good too. 2 bad years. It's the guillotine for Hendry. Liberty, equality, fraternity, or death! Scouts are an affront to liberty. Equality now! 66 wins for a team with a payroll near $100 million. Enough said.
  16. He should get the starting job next year, pretty easily too. Ryan Morris, who will be a Soph next year, and Billy Lowe, a redshirt Freshman next year, will be Nicholson's only other competition. Novak loves playing the older guys, so if he doesn't win the job, I will be very surprised. TCU's defense manhandled NIU's O-line the whole game. I don't think this game was a fair way to judge how Nicholson will play in the future.
  17. Don't count on either. Pruitt, Randle, Frazier, etc. Basically all but Carter and McBride are back. Illinois Football is on the way up too. You really think a 2-10 team is gonna beat an 8-4 team when we return like 16 starters? Yes. Actually, I think it will be close. Illini and Mizzou games always seem close, no matter how good or bad one is over the other.
  18. Pack need to win the final 2 Giants need to lose at home against the Saints and on the road against Washington St. Louis needs to lose one of their remaining games Atlanta needs to lose one of their remaining games As long as we're still in it going into Week 17, that's all I can ask for. I'm really going to want the Rams and Bills games back, ugh.
  19. This definitely made up for the NIU loss tonight. It was nice to hold Kobe in check for once and nice to get a win against a top Western Conference team.
  20. Well, that was embarassing. A couple of my friends actually made the trip out to SD as well for that game. Ouch.
  21. I made ND over LSU my lowest. I made Florida beating Ohio State as my highest :D
  22. Sheesh. The only thing worse than that Thurs. matchup is the guy who will be doing the play-by-play. You can't get much worse than Bryant Gumbel. Still, it's pretty sad that the winner of the game on Thursday is going to have a chance at the postseason.
  23. No surprise there. It was definitely a pipe dream to hope that the Cubs would show some interest in Giles :(
  24. I saw that little segment on The OT where he was criticizing Grossman. It was some funny stuff. The guy definitely has some problems with the Bears and Chicago as well as Grossman in general. It's not a surprise to me that Buck would say that the Eagles have a better chance in the NFC than the Bears. I definitely think that he is a closet Eagles fan.
  25. He was with the Thrashers last year and had a decent year. I think he had something like 21 goals. I don't really know why no team grabbed him this year. Personally, I was surprised to find out that he was still a FA when we were rumored to be signing him. I guess 'Bulin made several great saves at the end that preserved the W for us. He has really played well so far this year. 2 points out of the 8th spot is pretty amazing. Savard has done wonders for us ever since he has been in charge.
