Looking forward to SIU's opener this week. We didn't play some NAIA or D-3 school this year, so starting against Hampton should throw us in the thick of things pretty fast. It should be a good warmup game before our game against Northwestern next weekend. Illinois should blow out EIU pretty easily and we'll just see how much NIU has improved this year with a tough road conference game early in the season against Western Michigan.

Like I said... shut up keep it civil please. Can't you ban for trolling? What's trolling, for saying 3.5? Since when did everyone decide to make game threads kool-aid posters only? It's a nice change of pace over what game threads used to be, but we've played like complete garbage since Thursday. And the Brewers have a decent chance of winning tonight, so a 3.5 game lead doesn't seem like it's that far off. I guess we just have to be completely oblivious to facts now. -

SIU's playing in some pre-season tournament at Windsor, Canada right now (the same one Illinois played in last year). 2-0 to start the trip...the freshmen have supposedly looked extremely good. Carlton Fay had 24 points in just 18 minutes today too. None of this really matters but with all of the freshmen that we have this year, the extra time on-court won't hurt us.

I'm only expecting the Mets to take 1 of 3 from the Brewers. Just take care of business at home against the Astros like we usually do and everything will take care of itself.

Yeah, I was in a bar, so I didn't really get what happened or if he ever came back, but he definitely went back to the locker room in the 2nd half. I didn't see anybody mention it in this thread, so I thought he musta came back. Yeah he came back in the 4th because he made a nice pass deflection when Illinois was trying to come back.

Frankly, I think Mizzou would flatten every other team in the Big Ten with the exception of Ohio State. That would be a fun game to watch. yeah, I'm not prepared to talk trash about Illinois until after Penn State plays them. I'm not very confident right now, even with the game at home. i'm not talking trash, but some illinois fans have gotten pretty cocky about their team. i think they forget that they were horrible 2 years ago. and frankly it seems like they have a lot of punks on their team too, getting up and hopping around after every first down or tackle for a loss. Damn us for actually being happy that we have a respectable football team now. And damn those players for celebrating when something good happens. Just makes me sick.

If Juice can play like that for most of this year, Illinois is going to be very good. Still, this defense needs to play better. Two (hopeful) cupcakes before Penn State.
