Look at the talent around Rodgers. He's more mobile than Favre, that's not even a comparison. Sure Favre had an ability to get away from sacks. If you remember the 4-12 season a couple of years ago, he should've been sacked numerous times. Instead, plenty of his 29 interceptions came from avoiding sacks and flinging the ball right into the secondary. The talent is around Rodgers to succeed. He's got a decent offensive line, a running back that hits holes harder than any other RB in the league, and most importantly he has great playmakers around him at the WR and TE positions. We led the league in YAC last year. That's what happens when you have guys at those positions that can make plays on their feet. That's also what happens when you have a quarterback that finally buys into a system that his coach was preaching on him to learn for the last few years and look what happened to Favre. He had one of his best years in his career last year. The west-coast offense is a very QB-friendly offense designed for the receivers to make plays once they get the ball. We have the wideouts to do that. With the defense we have (even though we've struggled a bit in the preseason), all Rodgers has to do is be average and a 9 or 10 win season should come pretty easily. Sure losing Favre was big, but how did he do in 2005 and 2006? Not that great. People were saying how he should've retired those couple of years and many said Rodgers could have been better. Now that Favre had a great year, all the outsiders are skeptical of Rodgers. If Favre retires the year before, I doubt Rodgers is being questioned as much and as often as he is now. As long as he plays average, we'll be fine this year.

Did they still try to tag Lee, or did they just throw back home to try to get Sori? They didn't have a play on Lee. As soon as the infielder got the ball, he threw it back to the plate, but Soriano beat the throw to score.

They only scored 6 points on our first string D, and Harris, Hawk and KGB were out that game. There are concerns with our nickelbacks, so it wasn't really surprising to see the Niners tear us a new one once the backups came in. It's the preseason though, so you really can't judge how your team is going to look during the season based on one game. Sure this was probably the most important preseason game of the season, but it doesn't count for anything. I'm sure the Bears defense will be better than what they showed tonight. I've always been a huge Wolfe fan, but the pick was extremely puzzling. You don't take a 5'5 running back in the 3rd round when his only projections are as a returner and a 3rd down back. Hopefully he catches on somewhere else because he has shown some flashes that he can exceed at this level.

Calling for Rodgers head is stupid. He is essentially a rookie QB, and isn't going to be Brett Favre right away. In fact at his ceiling he isn't going to be anywhere close to Brett Favre. Packers fanse understand this and are willing to give him a chance. He is an unproven commidity and the Packers don't know what they have in him, and until they do the fanbase and franchise will remain commited. If Bears fans were calling for the head of Rodgers in the exact same situation in Chicago, and wanted Matt Flynn to start over him I think I would laugh myself to death. I would've been utterly embarrassed if the fans at Lambeau booed Rodgers at the start of the game last week. And what you guys have been saying is what I said all of last year. It doesn't matter who the Bears QB is with that pile of crap known as the offensive line. No quarterback in the league will succeed with that.

Why the hell he came back? He had no other offers. He wasn't getting a starting spot anywhere else. At least in Chicago he could try for one. There's not even a question? What game are you watching? There isn't a question. Grossman had his bad games in 06, but he also had his awesome ones. He had to win a few of those games with some great play in the 4th quarter. Has Kyle Orton ever shown he can do that? Woohoo, he played well in two meaningless games last year. And hey, he was pretty bad in 05, but at least he didn't turn the ball over! That 05 Bears team was so putrid on offense and a large part of it was due to the playcalling, but it was also in the team not believing in Orton. And there's a reason why they didn't believe in him. They literally had the same team in 2006 on offense and Grossman made it so much better. Like I said, there's no question who the better QB is. Perhaps Boldin is a WR that cares more about money than playing for a good team. He probably is. But with the Bears QB situation, with their other "playmakers" on offense, and an embarrassing offensive line, I don't think he's going to want his career to die at such a young age.

I bet Rex is wondering why the hell he came back. I know I am. Sure Grossman makes some dumb plays, but there's not even a question that he's a better quarterback than Orton. I don't really understand the purpose of starting Orton, but I'm sure most of the smart Bears fans don't either. And there's no way Anquan Boldin is going to want to go to the Bears. Absolutely no way.

This really bothers you? I don't really care what they do, Kaman has a right to play for Germany. I don't look at it as being a traitor or anything of that nature, he's just doing what's best for himself. I'd do the same thing if I were in his position.
