  1. Clinching on Friday afternoon against the Cardinals doesn't sound bad at all. At least I can watch all 3 games this weekend.
  2. It shouldn't be. Past WCIU games that were also broadcast on ESPN weren't blacked out. The Mets game and the game where we just flat out embarrassed the Brewers come to mind. CSN games on ESPN do get blacked out, for whatever reason. I have to work for the first part of this game, but hopefully I come back to see that we're taking it to Sheets. If we win tonight, we clinch this thing tomorrow. That feels pretty darn good.
  3. I can't wait for Sunday night. Dallas really has had a tough start to their schedule, yet they're 2-0. If we can beat them, I think that really solidifies as a contender in the NFC.
  4. Exactly. He's absolutely awful in games like this. We had a lot of games last year and especially in 2006 when we had leads bigger than 10 points that we would blow and have the other team get back in it because of his conservative playcalling when we get to a big lead. It's unfortunate because he's a real solid coach besides that, but it's extremely frustrating to see this happen time and time again. He's undefeated against the Lions, but all 3 games he's coached at Ford Field have had the same pattern as this game. Get the big lead, go conservative on offense, have the Lions get back in it, and then you pull away at the end. At least we stepped on the accelerator when we needed to. We easily could've rolled over and died after the Lions grabbed the lead, but Rodgers and Jennings made sure that didn't happen. Great job by the defense in finally forcing some turnovers too. I figured they'd struggle in the 2nd half because the Lions absolutely dominated the time of possession in the 2nd half, but Woodson and Collins still came up with huge plays. Next Sunday night is going to be awesome.
  5. As much as I hate to say it, there's no way Illinois deserves to be in this poll, let alone in the top 25.
  6. Even though you guys smoked us (nice coaching Lennon), it was still a pretty fun time. We were sitting with the SIU section for the first quarter and a half until the rain really started to come down, so we moved to the Northwestern side under that canopy deal or whatever you call it to remain dry for the rest of the game. Then after halftime, the NU band came and moved up right next to us. That was rather..interesting. We were able to move the ball through the air because it was evident that Northwestern was aiming to stop Warner (who had a sick TD run). But for whatever reason, we decided to not throw the ball and we just played an extremely stupid game on offense. Our defense did all right, especially against the run. They were just always on the field because of our pathetic playcalling yesterday. That's got to change if we're going to want to do anything in the I-AA ranks this year, especially with facing the #2 and #1 teams respectively in I-AA for our next two games.
  7. and I know Woody hit 95 tonnight, maybe 96. 98 according to the game thread. 97-98 on the FSN MW feed. I think people just want something to panic about to keep them busy. Come on, Harden was fine tonight.
  8. Yea, you really are CubsGM Amazing that you're this bad at hiding it pretty much. both posters (who are the same thing) are utterly worthless. Even if he's not CubsGM, he should just be referred to as CubsGM You'd think he would make a more creative name. 08Cubs is the next one.
  9. Of course it won't. I say USC wins by 17.
  10. Oh and I'm also looking forward to Favre giving the Patriots their first regular season loss in forever.
  11. No letdown please. I'm expecting less than the 34 points the Falcons scored against the Lions defense yesterday, but I'm still hoping for at least 28 (and a win of course).
  12. At my radio meeting tonight, one of the guy's said his opponent in FF had Eddie Royal and basically laughed it off and marked it off as a win. Whoops.
  13. Um, wow. I did not expect this. Awesome day :D
  14. I liked what I saw! Good win! Grant looked real good for his first in-game action all season. Rodgers was as good as anyone could have hoped. The wideouts all looked good as Jennings looked like the big-play receiver that he's becoming and we did that without James Jones tonight. The defense contained AP and Taylor and made Jackson beat them, which is what a lot of teams are going to do to Minnesota this season. Very good start to the season. Can't avoid a letdown game next week against the Lions. It would be huge to be 2-0 going into the big Sunday nighter against Dallas.
  15. There's the turnover. Ballgame. 1-0 :D
  16. I remember my dad always complaining about how Longwell never could do that. I saw Crosby my freshman year (Colorado @ Mizzou) and was very impressed. When he signed w/ GB I was pumped. Same here. That was one pick that I absolutely loved at the time we made it.
  17. Yeah, I remember several of his 48 yard FG's that were short as well.
  18. TOUCHDOWN PACK!!! What an awesome, awesome, awesome game.
  19. Stick a dagger in them, please.
  20. It really was sad how it took an ankle injury to Woodson on a punt return to finally have Blackmon get his chance on returns. He's a stud on returns and he showed it off there. Two possession game. This should be a blowout, but I'll "settle" for an 11 point lead right now.
  21. WILLIAM BLACKMON!
  22. The real-time view looked extremely close...not sure if he had two feet down right away.
  23. Rodgers has looked as good as anyone could have hoped so far. Unfortunately that field goal was blocked right at the half. Defense needs to keep doing their thing and we'll be ok.
  24. Matt Forte looks really good. I don't know if it's the turf or what, but he's got a huge burst of speed everytime he gets the ball.
