Cubs 4 Dodgers 2 Dempster goes 7 strong before turning it over to Marmol and Wood. "Adolpho" Soriano goes yard and Jimmy Edmonds drives in two. I'm pumped for this, I can't wait until tomorrow afternoon. Last year, I knew we weren't really going to do anything against Arizona but I feel real confident about this series. I know all about our past "success" against Derrek Lowe. That ends tomorrow.

Good, I really hope we lock up Gordon long-term. Sure he's a small two-guard, but he's shown he can average 20 points per game with no true other scoring threat on the team. I guess Deng is an average threat, but he doesn't really present you much of a legit #1 guy. With Rose running the show, just imagine how many easy looks Gordon would get as Rose draws double teams on drives to the hoop. Are you serious? A Rose and Gordon backcourt would flourish IMO. I've said it since the Rose pick, I really hope Hinrich's the odd guy out. It doesn't look like that's going to be the case for at least this year, but I still hope Paxson eventually comes to his senses. -
Packers shouldn't have much trouble with the Falcons if Rodgers is fine. If not, we'll struggle. This is a game we absolutely need before we face Seattle at Qwest and the Colts at home before the bye.

Maybe he can go to ISU games now and complain to them why his brother isn't playing there.

That makes two of us. Oh and Aaron Rodgers only has a strained shoulder and he should play against ATL on Sunday. That's a big sigh of relief in Packerland.

I think we might win this game, but it likely won't be pretty. Fulmer has announced there is a QB controversy in Knoxville as Jonathon Crompton will fight it out with Nick Stephens for the starting job. While I would prefer giving all the reps to Stephens, I like this move. The offense simply isn't getting anything done right now and the primary reason for that is Crompton. He has the most potential of any of our QBs, I think, but it's looking right now like he can't make the adjustments on-field and get his mindset right. It'll be interesting to see how many people show up Saturday. Tickets are going on E-bay for face value (unheard of in Tennessee) and there are thoughts we won't top 80,000. If that happens the rest of the year, people may finally get their wish and see Fulmer gone. NIU could make things interesting if they play as well as they did last week. I know it was only Eastern Michigan, but the defense looked rock solid and NIU has insane depth at running back. I think they'll hang in there for a little bit before Tennessee pulls it out. Actually I have some friends making the trip to Neyland and if ticket prices are going that cheap, I might bite on that seeing how SIU and Illinois both have roadies this week.

Did that increase at all with the firing of Matt Millen? Because it should have. I'm sure it increased after the Packers and Vikings losses.

Rodgers think he has a separated shoulder, so we'll see what happens this week. Great job not signing Simms or any other veteran QB in the offseason. That was probably the stupidest decision that any GM could've made. If Rodgers misses any substantial time, we're done.

We're an average team, which should be good enough to win the North. But if Rodgers is hurt at all, we are very screwed.

Great...looks like Rodgers is done for the day. In comes Flynn. Thank God Woodson had that INT for 7. Just run this clock down and get some first downs.

Should've been a pick by Collins, possibly even a pick 6. Instead he drops it, Tampa picks up a first down on 4th and 1 and they're probably going to go up by 10 at half. Very sloppy game on our end.

So you'd rather play the Phillies in the first round than the Mets? That's sure smart. Phillies clinched today. The Cubs will play either the Mets or the Dodgers in the first round. I'm the idiot here, sorry Aramis Fan. I'd still rather the Mets get the WC than the Brewers, just because I know we can beat the Mets with our 100% lineup in there. I mean we nearly swept them this past week with many of our AAA guys playing out there while they were fighting for their lives. I think the Brewers could be a very scary team if they make the playoffs.

that's because we already beat syracuse. Oh...they had it out of line then. All the other games they had played were on the left. It was a poor graphic. I was confused by it at first as well, but the teams on the left were home games for PSU and the ones on the right were road games.

they didn't last year against us, or against ohio st. Last year was one of those years though. Illinois never has the same success the year after a great year. To be honest, I was really impressed that we hung in there for 3 1/2 quarters against you guys. I was expecting to lose this game by three touchdowns (which we might anyway), but it was closer than the final score will indicate. If we're going to want to do anything this year, the defense is going to have to improve, and fast. Vontae's a great corner but he'll struggle a lot if the front seven can't get pressure on the quarterback. Our front seven really needs to wake up if we're going to want to contend for a good bowl bid this year.
